Took the boys birding and we found hundreds of Ibis. We have spent countless hours looking for one on a few occasions. Most of the time we had no luck but eventually saw a few from a pretty far distance. This time they were so close, and plentiful! #glossyibis #birding #canadainpunk @mennovers

Great to celebrate the world premiere of All That She Wants @tiff_net. It’s a Rom-com of the Rated-R nature and the film’s success starts with David West Read @westread and Annie Murphy @annefrances. Dave’s hilarious, razor-sharp, gloriously chaotic and ultimately very human script blew me away. Annie’s performance absolutely knocked me out. It is completely magnetic while still feeling effortless, natural and perfectly nuanced. Scotty Taylor, Menno Versteeg and Nixon Boyd brought unforgettable music contributions that genuinely elevated the film in the best possible way. Rob Scarborough, Scarlett Bermingham and Andrew Rhymer provided an incredible combo of vision, instinct and craft. Working with Lindsay Tapscott and Katie Nolan @babenationfilms Lauren Shelton, Teresa Page and Alex Moran @leylineentertainment was by far my fave producer combo to date. Massive respect to Jamie Kennedy for a masterful edit that made this thing land with perfect comedic pace and emotional timing. My tiny team was hugely talented, starting with all-star violinist @kendelcarson, mix-master extraordinaire @snellular5 and @leah.e.klein for bringing the super chic, electro diva vibe energy to our warm and completely normal Silent Night remix. Thanks to Dennis @bigsmokeaudio for the eye opening pre-mix. There are hundreds more people who made this thing what it is, and I’m super proud to be a small part of it. Please stay tuned for your chance to see Annie destroy all Rom-com contenders to become the new queen 🤭 Photo by Photagonist.ca @photagonist Photo by Brian de Rivera Simon @tarsipix #tiff #filmscore #composer #allthatshewants

David James Allen is a Canadian songwriter, producer, and multi-instrumentalist based in Prince Edward County.

His fifth full-length album, ‘Jubilation Potpourri’ (out this Friday, September 18!), brings together plainspoken songs that blend alt-country, folk, and soul, reflecting working life, love, and the quiet pressures of modern living, with a focus on connection, care, and acceptance.

Since relocating to PEC, Allen has quietly built one of Canada’s most consistent independent catalogues, releasing a steady stream of critically acclaimed records including ‘When the Demons Come’, ‘Radiations’, ‘The Architect’, and ‘By the Summertime’.

An independent artist releasing through @littleknownrecords, Allen performs across Canada while producing much of his own work from @littleknownlabs. His music has been featured by Americana UK and The Bluegrass Situation, with airplay from SiriusXM North Americana and CBC.

Drawing equally from country, folk, soul, and classic singer-songwriters, Allen continues to carve out a distinctive voice rooted in honest storytelling, lived experience, and songs that find beauty in ordinary lives.

Catch @davidjamesallen at SSF, Thursday at @drakeunderground and Friday at @thegarrisonto. Passes + individual show tickets on sale now! 🎟️

Easily one of the most meaningful shows Toronto has put on lately. Live Loud brought together incredible talent for mental health awareness, and the energy in the room was completely locked in from start to finish. So glad I was there for this one.

1.) Thank you to @krennykren for being an absolute warrior battling being sick. She came out and made another memory with us despite being exhausted. 2.) As a teenager working for my uncle at his jewellry store, I would be getting inventory and castings made in the surrounding neighbourhood that contains @masseyhall I would stop and stare and dream of being on that stage. Well I got to play it with my friends last night. @_makemusicmatter_ @matthewperryhouse Thanks for giving this 46 year old kid a chance to play. This venue always felt out of reach due to my musical choices and pursuits. It’s right up there with @thegarden in my bucket list. Thanks to all the staff, stage crew, all of you that showed and artists that made last night a reminder that we aren’t alone out here. A huge thanks to all @tiff_net for having @krennykren and @toddsplanet out to the kickoff in Liberty Village! 📸 @krennykren Steve Song

Some takeaways from this year’s Live Loud, in support of @matthewperryhouse and @_makemusicmatter_

@fefedobson owns any stage she appears on.
@juliantaylormusic has a voice built for @masseyhall.
@michiebadgyalmee and @maestrofreshwes are Canadian royalty and we are lucky to witness their craft.

Up and down the lineup, the music delivered, punctuating an important message. A great night for a great cause. Thanks to @kc_leadershipandlegacy for the invite.
