This is the very beginning stages of a painting for the annual Meow Brow show at @gallery.ergo next month. I’m trying to get more comfortable with posting more WIP videos, instead of just finished paintings with a full timelapse. After I have a dried warm greyish layer applied, the first layer goes pretty quick. I’m using thinned out white paint to create simple contrast and some basic large shapes. This took about 30 minutes. It’s not clean at all, but it’s there to act as a vague map for the next layer I add ontop which I will continue to refine. I feel that my process is just starting out messy, and each layer I try and fix all the errors from the previous layer until I get to a point to where I’m happy with it and there is nothing left that I need to fix.

We always look forward to Briana Hertzog’s submissions! Her two pieces for this year’s Meow Brow, ‘Sunshine’ & ‘Starshine’, are both fantastic. Clay, acrylic, resin & wire on birch Meow Brow panels.

These two are both available as of this writing, but won’t last! Hit us up if you want to snag one or have any questions!
