experience 9711st20 | right next to my studio is a vacant lot with much wild growth in a ravine. So much beauty in there and to think at one time almost this entire area was this way. I love watching organic matter cycle through its process. This leaf has such depth to me on so many levels. Please check out @fetidearthgallery, from Australia. "Resilience (n): to spring back into shape, or to recover quickly from difficulties"
My guess is the word was applied to objects such as springs and quickly extended to toughness of human recovery. From Psychology Today, "Psychologists have identified some of the factors that make someone resilient, among them
♦a positive attitude,
♦optimism,
♦the ability to regulate emotions, and
♦the ability to see failure as a form of helpful feedback." All of this you need to not quit!

This is part 1 of this theme. Part 2 will be a photo from this same group of shots along with a description. But here, I couldn't wait to share this unplanned edit, which I finished off yesterday. Really love how it could speak so much for me.◽ (The hardest part for me is transferring the colors to the phone. Really need to mess around most of the time even after it's done. Oh, and I discovered this great site with royalty-free photos, called Pixabay.)

I wrote the poem last year, out of the blue. Happy that I can show it along with this specific edit. Here it is—the poem you could read vertically and horizontally. This was definitely a shower idea that I knew I had to make work. So I took over a comfy armchair, notebook and pen in hand, all day, shifting around in different positions and making the words work together—fit like a puzzle (oh hey, look at the Rubik's cube there). I did enjoy the process.

Since I was going to post this a few days ago, I do want to mention. On Father's Day, what my friend expressed struck with me: whoever your father figure is, having one is completion of life exposure much like a yin and yan. We can't be limited by our masculinity and femininity in doing what we love. And perfect thing is my sister and I and our dad spend that evening watching "Karate Kid," which was quite exciting to re-watch. Recall the wise words, "Lesson not just karate only. Lesson for whole life. Whole life have a balance.Everything be better." Also know, "You're the best around, and nothing's going to bring you down!" And the people who raised us are the best. And we are. You are. Remember.

P.S. I thought about how our dad took us to places, to more feminine things like ballet and acting (acting, my sister only) and to less so such as TKD and fencing (latter also my sis only), and remembered how my dad drove me to the school of the arts in another city and how he came to every performance to cheer us on and how we travelled as guest authors to cons and all kinds of cool places, showing us love. And speaking of which, at Supercon last year in the green room for lecturers and actors, my dad saw the antihero from "Karate Kid". . . 😀
