Coming into Pitt I knew I wanted to join PDM. Coming from a dance marathon middle and high school it was a no brainer. But what I didn’t know was by joining this organization, I would be getting my best friends, my family, and a place to call home on campus. Joining the marketing panel my freshmen year, I never thought I would have the honor of being the marketing director for the last 2 years.

Nothing could beat that feeling of holding up $435,422.67. Not just because we had broken a record, but because as I stood up on that stage and saw the crowd of people who had so much passion and dedication to this cause, I saw my 4 years of PDM flash before my eyes. Staring out, everywhere I looked I saw my younger self who was new to PDM and if only she knew the memories she would make. From being in the crowd my freshman year, watching reveal for the first time and feeling so much pride in seeing all of our hard work pay off. To seeing my past multimedia self (my first leadership role in PDM!) through my marketing panel taking pictures of the reveal. Then to my last 2 years as director, standing on this stage for the final time. All of the memories from the past 4 years flashed through my head as I stood there holding up that number. It made me emotional, standing on that stage leaving PDM, but looking out into the crowd and seeing the group of people that will continue to lead this organization with such passion gave me so much joy.

Thank you to everyone who has made my PDM experience what it is. Thank you to my amazing panel, my chairs, and exec, I truly could not imagine my college career without you guys and you guys have been my rock through it all. Lastly thank you to everyone who has supported me, I would not be where I am without you guys.

I truly cannot imagine saying goodbye to this organization, so it is just a see you next time because the thought of fully leaving behind something that gave me so much is not possible. I cannot wait to continue to watch this organization grow. Although my chapter is closing with PDM, the story is truly never over. Hail 2 kids forever and always 💙💛

Hi, y’all! My name is Meredith, and I am from Arlington, Texas and I am 100% committed to Pitt and will be majoring in Nursing.
