The 2nd EDS Awareness Month without my grandma

In contrast to the much more sentimental post I made last year about my grandma, I created this post of some of the most unhinged things my grandma experienced in her lifetime, because why not!

If you don’t laugh, you’ll cry, am I right??

hEDS has long been believed to be an unimportant diagnosis by many medical professionals and is now gaining a reputation online as being a “tiktok” illness. While this frustrates me as a patient who knows all too well the real-life consequences of hEDS, I feel the most anger for my grandma who spent all but the last 4 years of her life believing that all of her pain and suffering was her own fault.

One great memory I have of my grandma is when she called me up one day. We ended up talking about the things that we were struggling with such as our pain and doctors appointments when at the end of the call she said, “If you ever want to call me and cry, I’ll cry with you.” Sometimes I regret never taking her up on that offer.

Honestly, I put this together for myself and it brought me so much joy I thought I must share ♥️

Since my pets are featured in half the videos, let’s do a fun poll. Are you team Callie (cat), or team Rufus (dog)?

side note: these video clips are lined up in reverse order from when they happened
