POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

There’s so much that goes into a beautiful rug.

Michael visited Merida’s Massachusetts workshop to celebrate the launch of their new Nuance Collection and take a closer look at the materials, techniques, and people behind their work. From shelves of richly colored yarns to intricate patterns taking shape, the visit offered a window into the care that goes into each piece.

Understanding how something is made adds another layer to how we design with it, and to the stories we bring into our clients’ homes.

Thank you, @meridastudio, for welcoming Michael and sharing your craft.

Congratulations on the new collection!

The enduring beauty of warm neutrals. In this Pacific Palisades home, a sitting area just beyond the primary bedroom brings together warm camel tones, natural textures, and classic blue-and-white porcelain. Floor-to-ceiling bookshelves, tailored upholstery, and a skirted table lend the space a sense of collected charm, while an @johnsaladino glass lamp introduces a sculptural note. A collected and timeless retreat where each element feels both purposeful and perfectly at home.

A great home acts as the soundtrack to a family's life. When our clients changed their tune from a suburban property to this vibrant city site, we set out to build a house with a distinctly upbeat tempo. From the welcoming open entry and the structured salon to the swinging bench on the sun-filled porch, every space is composed to set the daily rhythm.

With Mount Tamalpais and the surrounding hills just beyond the house, we looked for every opportunity to make the landscape part of the interior experience. Expansive windows, wide openings, and long sightlines carry that connection from room to room, helping a once-disjointed home feel far more cohesive. #julierootesinteriors

From the archive photos. Ikebana at this booth representing modern tokonoma space gradually transformed from fall to winter every day during Design Miami held on December 2024. This space possessed a profound, meditative atmosphere, standing out in the bustling venue. The floral arrangement was made minimal and simple to realize the artist's concept. It is considered wabi sabi.

Another look back as we celebrate fifteen years of rooms we love. At Greystone, malachite green walls, ferns and orchids turned a passage into a garden of sorts. Blue-and-white porcelain climbs the walls, while wicker, jute and a striped table temper the formality of the architecture, as fresh now as it was then.

Bedside manner: impeccable. 😉

Because your nightstand should do more than hold a charger and a half-finished glass of water.

Sculptural, storied, tailored or understated — a little bedside personality goes a long way.
