That's all she wrote! Another long awaited swell in New England, now a figment of the imagination. Never quite got the "epic" quality but a four day surf bender didn't suck. A big thanks to @edmoranphotography and @merman50 for pointing your cameras my way!

Tim Hortons iced Capp, a dozen apple fritters, drove through the night to be parked and suited up for high tide, Noah got denied on the paddle out and Liam definitely pees in his wetsuit after getting out of the water- van will need a pressure wash……. Why do I do this ?? #merci

After sleeping in my garage ,during one of his many traveling residencies, my friend Tristan (@fantasticacid ) gifted me a wild flex tail surfboard. Admittedly I always treated the gift as an art object (as it is)- and rarely paddled it out in our “less than ideal” conditions in the Northeast (believing it required opportunities we rarely have).
After a trip to visit Tristan this winter (and some shared surfs in his native southern France), I came home to the board inspired to get it wet more regularly and it has changed how I view these “aquatic sculptures”. The board possesses effortless “HOP-less” speed. I now find little lines , visuals , rail sensations , and moments in unwanted waves making “full meals” like discarded salmon cheeks to a fish monger. Essentially I became elated with this thing.
And yes I encourage you to check him out / he is going to be at @pilgrimsurfsupply this fall shaping orders and maybe you want to try and find a new feeling. He is a sincere gem of a human and I highly suggest watching and reading the recent @surfersjournal piece showing his magical world. Pics: @merman50
