My latest Unraveling Substack begins in a church pew. I was sitting among friends celebrating my dear bestie Reverend @thisisnatalie’s ordination when a woman stepped to the microphone and said four simple words that stopped me cold: “Thank you for appearing.” Not thank you for achieving. Not thank you for accomplishing. Not thank you for producing. Thank you for appearing. Mic. Drop. And then, unexpectedly, those four words took me somewhere else entirely. The day before, I’d taken some of the most important women in my life to the top of the @empirestatebldg. Standing there, looking out over New York City, I was suddenly transported back five years — to the last time I stood in that exact spot. The day I said goodbye to you… on CNN. What happened next is a story I’ve never shared publicly. Until now. This week’s Unraveling is about appearing. About becoming. About endings and beginnings. Wow! Just WOW! What an incredible birthday celebration. Truly one of the most special weekends of my life! So grateful to @michaeldevellis and my mom for hosting and all the planning and hard work and to @sarahrigano for bringing her signature jeuje to the decor. 🙏 Huge thank you all my friends and family who ventured to Oquaga Lake (my favorite place on earth if u haven’t noticed) , traveling from San Francisco, Memphis, LA, Boston, NYC, Saratoga Springs, the Bing-Hampton’s 😉, etc. Besides a few special people who werent with us this weekend that were missed, it was just perfect and epic!!! Be prepared for more photos this week as my heart - and my iphone photos - are full after these a few days! 🙏

After 7 incredible years of calling @cnn my work home, I can truly say it was everything I could have ever prayed for. . 🙏🏽 This was a place that stood by me when our industry shut down during COVID, gave me the W2s I needed to rent my first apartment in NYC, and gifted me the most generous maternity leave to raise my son when I became a mother. I’m forever grateful for my time at CNN, working not only with the best journalists and reporters on screen, but also alongside the most talented artists in our community of makeup and hair. 💋 Walking away from a dream job is never easy — but deep down, I believe this chapter isn’t over. It’s simply evolving as I step forward to realign with my purpose and mission at Around The World Beauty @atwbeauty and put my mental health first to be a better mother, partner, and friend. Like many new moms we really are trying to do it all and I had to take a moment to pause and re-align with my souls mission and and ask: what is it going to take to make my dreams into a reality- My tv show, My book, my tours again my beauty brand. I simply don’t have the time to make it all happen. So here iam making a choice a line in the sand to stand for what is next. ❤️ Working at CNN has been deeply transformative, and I’m beyond excited for what’s to come. ❤️ To my wild, wonderful coworkers who became family, and to the icons who sat in my chair — too many to count — thank you for showing up as real-life heroes and leaders. If there’s one thing I’ve learned behind the chair at CNN, it’s this: No matter who we are, It about being part of something bigger than ourselves — elevating voices, helping people feel seen, and Iam forever honored for witnessing history unfold from just a few feet away. 💋 To my team — thank you.
