A little New York City photo dump 🗽✨

Last week, I headed to NYC with my COO @merylowencherry for @craigsiegel_cls’s Formation event, and it was such an incredible experience. It was an honor to be in a room with so many inspiring people, make new connections, and just take it all in.

We had the best time in the city, and I’m so grateful we were able to be part of Formation. Until next time, New York 🤍

“I had only heard about You before, but now I have seen You with my own eyes.”
Job 42:5

5 years.

Honestly, even typing that makes me nauseous. Five years of life continuing without you here. Five years of birthdays, holidays, ordinary days, and milestones you should have been a part of. Just days ago, I watched Meryl walk herself down the aisle and I was reminded again of how grief can exist right alongside so much joy.

Losing you changed everything about my life but it also changed the way I know God.

Job knew God before his suffering, but after unimaginable loss, grief, and questioning, he knew Him differently. He had gone from hearing about who God was to experiencing Him for himself.

Before, I knew God was my Savior. After losing you, I learned what it actually meant to need to be carried by Him. There is an intimacy with God that I found in the deepest heartbreak of my life that I don’t think I could have understood before. I would give anything to have you here, but I will forever be grateful for the way God met me in the pain and has continued to meet me in every season.

And if grief has taught me anything, it’s to never be afraid to say the name of someone you’ve lost. Talk about them. Tell their stories. Laugh at the memories. You may cry, but those tears are simply love that still needs somewhere to go.

I will never let your name or your memory fade just because you aren’t physically here. I’ll keep talking about you, telling your stories, and carrying pieces of you into every milestone you should have been here for.

Five years without you here. Five years of knowing God in a way I never did before. And five years closer to seeing you again.

I love you, Dad. 🤍
