A coffee table should feel collected, not decorated.
Right now, mine is layered with a few pieces I genuinely love: vintage vessels from India that I also use as a vase for fresh hydrangeas, a stack of coffee table books that I’m actually reading, a scented candle to add warmth, and beautiful ceramic beads made by my friend Lauren.
I like styling with objects that are both beautiful and functional—pieces that tell a story and make a room feel lived in rather than staged.

I share more about my approach to curating a coffee table in this week’s Studio Notes , linked in my bio.

OPENING TONIGHT IN SOHO • 62 Crosby Street • 6-8

In a cultural moment marked by volatility and accelerated change, the act of seeking out beauty has regained a quiet urgency. Nino Mier Gallery is pleased to present The Persistence of Beauty, a group exhibition bringing together thirty contemporary artists whose practices engage landscape and still life not as nostalgic genres, but as enduring frameworks for reflection, emotional grounding, and visual pleasure. These works propose beauty as something powerful— capable of absorbing the pressures of the present while offering clarity, perspective, and the joy to forge a path forward.

One of the things I’ve come to appreciate most about a bedroom is this: when the palette is simple, everything else carries more weight.
Texture. Contrast. The way light moves across a surface. The weight of the linens. The grain of the wood.
It becomes less about what’s in the room, and more about how the room feels and the emotion it evokes.
That’s where the quiet beauty lives.

There is nothing quite like a shoot. This was our first install and first photo shoot of the new year and what a way to begin. Manolo Yllera flew in from Madrid for a whirlwind three days with us, and this reel is just a taste of what’s to come. This family, this home working with Ferguson & Shamamian and Johnny Donadic’s team was a true dream, not a thing I would change. And none of it would be what it is without my hardworking team. The incredible artisans and vendors who poured their craft into every detail, I’ll be celebrating each of them when the final images are out. Stay tuned. 🤍
