This week’s Artist of the Week is Messenger Down 🎶

@messengerdown is the musical project of Charlotte-based alternative-pop artist Garrett Foster. Blending raw instrumentation, soaring melodies, and electronic soundscapes, his music moves fluidly between synthpop, indie rock, alternative R&B, emo, and hip-hop.

The result is a diverse, genre-bending sound that’s both emotionally driven and sonically dynamic.

#CLTArtistoftheWeek is brought to you by @avidxchange.

2025 gave me everything I needed and so much more. I'm endlessly thankful for where this year has taken me and the people I've had the joy of sharing it with. here's to another year with Tremont, The Johnstown Flood, and even more of my own new music along the way!

2026, here I come 🕊️

new whip, who dis 😎

the last couple of weeks have kicked my ass. from the kid that turned out in front of me and totaled the Scion to getting smacked with the worst flu I've ever had after Thanksgiving, I definitely needed a win 😤

and speaking of wins uuuuuuuh happy 1,000 streams to my newest song??!? I put Thanks Keith out in October and it still needs like 150, but Maria got there in just 29 days!?

since October my monthlies have more than tripled, I've seen growth just about everywhere (except IG, but that's where I was most popular 6 years ago so it's to be expected 🤷🏻), and something about this song has been clicking with people in a way I didn't think would be possible until I got a couple more songs out.

if you've been listening, thank you so so much. I still catch myself in hiatus brain feeling like no one actually cares what I'm doing anymore, but small wins like this make a world of difference and keep me motivated.

2026 is coming in hot, and things are very much looking up 🕊️

oh October, my favorite month of the year 🎃

in so many ways, 2025 has given me my life back and shown me just how much magic is left in the places I thought I had lost it. new songs for both Messenger Down and The Johnstown Flood, shows with both and a weekend run with Tremont, seeing friends and finding new music to love, October had it all and then some.

I've got more new Messenger Down music coming quick and shows with The Johnstown Flood every month into 2026 so it looks like I won't be slowing down any time soon 🕊️
