Today, August 31, marks three years since we closed Earl’s Bike Shop. On September 1, 2023, we started Get Rad ATL.

The store's mission statement was ‘We inspire people to use cycling to improve their lives,’ and it remains true today. We’ve been privileged to be part of many people’s lives, and we continue to treasure all the new relationships that have been formed.

My heart feels full right now as I reflect on all the adventures and memories we've shared, and I am excited to keep building this wonderful community. I can only hope we've added some positivity to your life. Forever and always, much love to you all. 💜

Here are some pics from the last few weeks. Speaking of rides, our Saturday Lunch Rides have gone through some changes. We’ve added more options!

EARLY LUNCH RIDE (DROP RIDE: 28-30 miles)

REGULAR LUNCH (DROP RIDE: 32-40 miles)

Riding bikes with your friends is just the best.

Except when you crash; then it kind of sucks 😄 @a.town.downs is 100% fine.

Today felt like a cool spring day and had us thinking of our 80-mile Lake Spivey route from March. Remember, kids, always be snacking 🍩

The past few days of heavy rain have us missing sunshine and summer vibes! At least we managed a great gravel ride a few Saturdays ago with our friends @acrcycling and @getradatl.

Two Saturdays ago, we took a ride on some ‘Champagne’ gravel to celebrate the famous Strade. Great vibes for a Saturday morning, especially when you end with pizza 🍕

Now, the weather isn’t fantastic right now, but the season will heat up soon! If you’re looking for some folks to roll with, check out these weekly bike rides—there’s something for everyone!

🍁 The Pumpkin Spice Latte season is far from over! 🍁

Join us this Sunday, November 9, for our annual Autumn Leaf Peepers ride. We’ll meet at 9:00 AM at @tallulahgorgepark. The ride will be 60 miles with approximately 5,000 feet of climbing. All are welcome, but please note that this is a drop-road ride.

Our club has been pushing speed and distance limits this year, both in races and during local rides. Despite this, we always have fun and take the time to bond as friends. The Leaf Peepers route is not for the timid, but we aim to enjoy the autumn scenery and each other's company.

🍨 We had a great turnout for last week's Saturday Lunch Ride: Tarmac 250 / Ice Cream Edition! 🍨

We had some fun launching our @strava #Tarmac250Challenge last week! If you complete the challenge, you'll be entered to win exciting prizes. So far, 111 members from our Strava club have signed up, and 36 have successfully finished. For everyone else, are you planning to conquer the full 250 kilometers by the end of today?!

Whether you're able to finish or not, we're excited to be rolling with our Browns Mill and Murphy Candler Lake routes tomorrow! Let’s roll 😁

Unfortunately, Atlanta is not known for its endless gravel roads. However, we have a decent amount of dirt paths and trails that can be pretty challenging if you're riding a gravel bike, but we do our best to enjoy these pockets of trail.

A few weeks ago, we hosted a "gravel ramble," a ride that connects some of these hidden paths and parks. These rides are sure to sharpen your skills! Everyone had a great time, and we hope to have more.

☀️ Summer is heating up here in Atlanta! 🥵

But we’re still riding. We had a fantastic crew out this Saturday for our Lunch Ride. The route took us to Niskey Lake, which is about 12 miles southwest of the city. If you're not familiar with the area, the road around the lake features many banked turns and has recently been repaved, making it a blast to ride.

We did two laps: the first one was a relaxed loop to get acquainted with the area, while the second was at race pace. With plenty of climbs, this two-mile loop poses a challenge, especially when you're riding with faster friends. 😅

If you decide to tackle this route, please be cautious of blind corners and stay on the rightmost part of the road. You can find the route link in our bio under "Road & Gravel Routes."

After the ride, we always have cool beverages and great times waiting for you at the shop. Party on, ATL! 🎉

Our Saturday Lunch Ride offers three distance options: 17-19 miles, 35-40 miles, or 55-60 miles, with both Spicy and Not-So-Spicy pace groups. More details in our bio.
