We engaged in a two-hour conversation with Mr. Ashutosh Samant Singhar, a retired IFS Officer (PCCF Chennai), regarding the curatorial intersection we aim to explore. For our mutual understanding, my first day of this residency started with his insightful conversation, which helped me get into the rhythm more inclusively. So, naturally, I had the expectation that his views would not only shed light on the institutional framework but also provide a unique perspective, considering his family is one of the oldest native members of this area. His presence shared immense energy, and I believe we will gain a deeper understanding as we explore further. In my role as a methodologist, I mapped certain avenues we have encountered so far into an intersection, intending to present them to him from different perspectives. The crux of the intersection includes:

1. Contexting: Exploring the Past – Where Are We in the Landscape of Biodiversity? This clarifies the focus on the past, present, and future within the theme of biodiversity. 2. Compassing: Intervening in the Present – Contemporary Concerns Shaping the Landscape. This rephrases the passive "presence" to active "intervening" and connects it to current concerns shaping the landscape. 3. Corresponding: Institutional Partnerships – Leveraging Resources for Impact. This clarifies the need for partnerships and emphasizes their role in maximizing impact.

He shared memories where Odisha especially this area has slowly changed its dynamics and discussed how globalization has influenced our understanding. He briefly touched on community history and its association with the lake. What intrigues me is his vision with a native-global South approach, where things are not black and white but exist in gradients, allowing for restoration as a mutual consent exercise.

Deep in Odisha, an art project explores the ripples of climate change on Chilika Lake's vibrant ecosystem. Through diverse voices and perspectives, we're exploring its complex ecology, not just through form, but by building a sustainable model that sparks lasting environmental awareness in future generations. This isn't just about critical theory but its decolonial approach. it's a conversation between creativity and nature, shaping how we see and interact with our world.

A remarkable weekend at Juxtapose Art Fair 💙

As we take a moment to catch our breath and savor the memories, we can't help but feel an overwhelming sense of gratitude. This past weekend at Juxtapose Art Fair has been an extraordinary journey filled with art, passion, and incredible conversations.

We're tired, but our hearts are full. We're happy, and we're immensely thankful ✨

In the heart of Godsbanens Rå Hal, we came together from near and far, forming a vibrant network of art enthusiasts, creators, and visionaries. The energy in the air was electric, and the atmosphere was charged with creativity.

🌎 Representing 13 different countries, our exhibitors brought forth a rich tapestry of artistry. Each project was a unique story waiting to be told. The diversity of perspectives and styles was awe-inspiring, reminding us of the boundless potential of the art world.

MEET THE EXHIBITORS

@meteor_international is an artist group based in Malmö (Sweden), Howrah/Kolkata (India) and with artist members all over the world 🌍

“Negotiating Neighborhood” is a hybrid exchange where they want to introduce the work of the artist group Meteor International with a number of artist books, some smaller artworks, and performances, which are further developed from completed and ongoing projects. The goal is to start a mutual exchange and discuss the current projects with visitors and other participants at Juxtapose. They want to build bridges between the projects and see if new creative angles can occur.

+++Staub zu Glitzer goes #Norway. Im Rahmen der Reihe "The Art of Assembly" von und mit Florian Malzacher sind wir am 30. Oktober beim Meteor International Theatre Festival vertreten.
Usw.
Wir bleiben dran.

Cyber Park | Summit 2021

Yusmarg Collective(YC) is an open space for all kinds of cultural practitioners to meet, gather, interact and engage in a dialogue with each other in Kashmir. YC birthed out of the crisis that was faced post-Aug 5 2019 in Kashmir when people were caught in the unforeseen circumstances and events that played out, initially in the forms of curfews, bans, and restrictions, and following that the global pandemic. These circumstances almost led to the closing of all opportunities and avenues of artistic expression. While global pandemic seemed to intensify it all, turning restricted movement, interruptions in life, isolation, and distancing as normative modes of being, YC acts as a space for dialogue, conversations, and care in difficult times.
