We’re grateful to the Methodist Foundation for Arkansas for choosing Family Network, and specifically our Diaper Collective program, to support diapers and period supplies for families across Northwest Arkansas. This funding will directly support our Methodist partners across three counties. They are part of a network of 26 partners who provide diapers and period supplies to families each month. Grants like this help make sure families have the basic supplies they need to feel stable and supported at home, at work, and in their communities.

Serve. Love. Restore. This is how we were shaped this week. We spent the week in New Orleans alongside students from United Methodist campus ministries across Arkansas, beginning each day grounded in worship and devotion, which were led by different campus ministries—reminding us why we were there in the first place. We stayed at Aurora UMC, shared meals, explored the French Quarter, Magazine Street, and Frenchmen Street (live music + late-night art market = 🔥), and yes… beignets, gumbo, and crawfish definitely made their mark 🦞 But the heart of the week was in the work and the relationships. Monday: We made manna bags and hygiene kits for neighbors who come to worship each week, which are simple, tangible ways to love people well. We also jumped into cleaning and painting projects. Tuesday: We learned about call and vocation, served meals, sorted clothes, and worked in City Park. We also saw and heard stories that reminded us Katrina’s impact is still present…even 20 years later. Wednesday: At First Grace UMC, we experienced a powerful story of unity, generosity, and justice. From crawfish with new friends to serving at a women’s shelter and partnering with Glassroots (turning recycled glass into sand for restoration!), we saw what it looks like to repair what’s been broken. Throughout the week, we were reminded: Service is sacred. Love is active. Restoration is holy work. We didn’t just go to serve, we were changed. Huge gratitude to The Methodist Foundation for Arkansas for sponsoring this trip and making it possible for so many of our students to be here. 💗
