A wedding weekend at Cedar Lakes Estate is unlike anything else.

There is one question I get when considering this venue for your wedding weekend, “So…is it an adult camp?”

Not exactly.

There are no tents. The accommodations are beautifully designed (one of my favorite cabins even has copper drain pipes), the food is exceptional, and every detail is thoughtfully considered. It’s one of the most elevated wedding weekend experiences I’ve ever had the privilege of planning.

But I understand where the comparison comes from.

When a couple has the entire property for the weekend, something shifts. Guests stop feeling like attendees and start feeling like they’re part of a community. They wander from the lake to dinner, from canoes to cocktails, bumping into familiar faces everywhere they go. At some point, they don’t even need the property map we tucked into their welcome bag.

It starts to feel like home.

There’s a nostalgia that settles in—the kind you remember from childhood summers when your only job was to be present, spend time with people you loved, and enjoy every moment.

Except this time, you’re celebrating two people beginning a marriage.

So yes, if by “adult camp” you mean a place where everyone feels connected, carefree, and completely immersed in the weekend, then I understand the comparison.

But don’t mistake that feeling for rustic.

Cedar Lakes Estate is one of the most thoughtful, hospitality-driven, and beautifully executed wedding destinations in the Hudson Valley—and it’s an experience your guests will talk about for years.

Traverse City in the summer had a pretty compelling case already.

The goal here was not to overtake the setting, but to give it shape. Our Cathedral Structure brought a strong architectural presence to the site while still feeling open to the landscape and everything happening around it. That balance gave the entire environment a sense of ease that guests could feel right away.

11 YEARS!!! ❤️❤️❤️
I can hardly believe it has been 11 years already - although @drewxcoles says he can believe it. 😅

We’ve been through so much together, and every twist and turn has only made us stronger. We’ve learned that nothing matters more than family. And through it all, our partnership has been the foundation everything else is built upon.

Drew, I love you. I’m so proud of you. And I’m endlessly grateful that you’re the father of our sweet babies and my partner in this life.

Life always throws surprises our way, but one of my favorite things about us is how deeply we understand the importance of growing and evolving together.

Love you in the last lifetime, this lifetime and the next. Happy anniversary!

Happy Anniversary to Kaleen & Peter! This week marks a milestone for this lovely couple as they celebrate their 4th anniversary! Their wedding, exquisitely planned and photographed by Kate Brown of Lovewell Weddings (in conjunction with Heather Davidson), was a perfect blend of timeless beauty and personalized touches.

Our in-house carpenter crafted a stunning white pergola bar to serve as the centerpiece for cocktail hour, offering a sophisticated space for guests to mingle and toast to the couple’s future. For the ceremony, a gracefully curved stage set the scene, seamlessly transitioning into an equally impressive, curved stage for the band during the reception. And, adding a memorable signature to the event was a monogrammed backdrop wall. The pristine white sailcloth tent was beautifully complemented by floral arrangements meticulously designed by Stacy K., whose work added a touch of romance and natural beauty to the sophisticated setting.

—Heading back to sweet, sweet @buttermilkfallsny next week for Emma and Will. Nearly one year after we celebrated Sarah and Ben there among the willows.

There will be an abundance of florals, gorgeous fashion, and a guest list full of Emma and Will fans. Because once you meet them you instantly adore them.
