What a night! I’m still feeling the love from last night’s Back to Green book launch at @pac_nyc! So special to celebrate this book with my co-author @jamilarobinson and my friend @michaelstrahan, and share the stories, flavors, and inspiration behind it all. And of course, we had to keep the celebration going with an incredible dinner featuring some of the BTG recipes that are now available at @metropolisbymarcus! Huge thanks to everyone who came out to celebrate, and to @avery_books for helping bring this book to life. This is just the beginning!

I just made Marcus Samuelsson’s @marcuscooks Golden Milk from his brand new cookbook BACK TO GREEN, co-written with Jamila Robinson @jamilarobinson and it comes out this Tuesday, October 20th from @avery_books . I love love love #goldenmilk and I have made many recipes but this Ethiopian recipe called for cloves and no ginger so a different version than I have tried before. This is the best one ever and it tastes like ambrosia. I like that the recipe has you grind all of the spices into a powder and uses whole cardamom pods, it suggests straining the tea before you drink it but I like it with a little texture. I used oat milk and fresh turmeric in my batch and also added some dried to the spice mix. I also added a little black pepper as I understand it increases how much curcumin your body can absorb. I have a lot of recipes tagged to make and very glad that I made a triple batch of this #goldenmilkrecipe . I put the extra in a glass jar and look forward to having more in the morning.
