Alongside Jason Crawley, Stefano Catino and Emma Franceschini, they’ll be talking glory days, how the industry has changed, lessons learnt and no doubt a few stories that probably shouldn’t leave the bar.

It's hard to think of a better neighbourhood to drink in right now.

It's awards season, and our little corner of Sydney is absolutely on fire.

Between the Boothby Best Bars NSW Awards and the Australian Bartender Awards, Newtown and Enmore continue to prove they're home to some of the best bars in the country.

We're lucky to be surrounded by an incredible community of venues that push each other, support each other and make this neighbourhood such a special place to grab a drink.

Congratulations to our own Pasan Wijesena, named 2026 NSW Person of the Year by @boothbydrinks.

Anyone who’s worked with Pasan, shared a drink with him or spent time in one of our venues knows this recognition couldn’t be more deserved.

In his own words:

“I’m extremely humbled to be chosen by my peers as NSW Person of the Year. It wouldn’t be possible without the support and excellence of the teams beside me, so any personal award is one I share with them.

I love this industry, and when you’re privileged to be in a position of leadership, your role is to make the job and the industry better for the next generation of bartenders. Looking after your staff, being an ally, supporting those who need it, and advocating for the wider hospitality community.

Hospitality is the art of making people feel seen, valued and at home. It’s never been just about the drinks.”
