Today on my FB memories this sweet pic pops up ( hello #TBT) of Lilliana taking care of her baby. The tender heart of a two year old (then) makes my aunt heart smile so big . I pray she alway keeps this spirit about her! ⠀

This also goes to show how much she has grown in a YEAR ... like she went from baby to BIG GIRL seemingly overnight . Makes me want to slow time down forever .⠀

I catch myself smiling from ear to ear . ⠀

God has blessed me with so many incredible things in my lifetime but there is NOTHING better than being the sister to these amazing brothers of mine. ⠀

I spent the whole afternoon laughing, smiling, eating good, feeling loved, and soaking up every moment with @mfarley41. ⠀

Getting to hang out as adults is so heart filling and there is no one I would have rather spent the day with than YOU, brother . ⠀

Always fun to catch up with alums when they come back to visit! Brothers Kenan Farley ('06) and Matthias Farley ('11) visited with teachers during lunch today. Matthias just wrapped up his first year playing for the New York Jets after three years with the Indianapolis Colts.

I have lived 30 Februarys at this point and I have always hesitated to make posts or be so proud to celebrate #BlackHistoryMonth.⠀

Why you might ask? ⠀

Being MIXED opens this invisible door where you constantly feel like you have to pick sides, justify, or legitimize your BLACKNESS. ⠀
⠀
I’m just over it. ⠀
⠀
I have never felt more confident and secure in who God has created me to be. No amount of colorism, racism, ignorance, or my own insecurities can change the fact that I am so proud to be a black woman TODAY . ⠀

We all have a story.⠀
We all have a different lived experience.⠀
We all have something to be proud of.⠀
