behind the scenes of an amazing summer at @fingerlakesopera 🤍💕

what a joy and privilege to spend the past five weeks surrounded by the most uplifting and kind artists, to sing one of my favorite roles, and to make such beautiful friendships. I am so grateful, so lucky, & going to miss these humans so much!!

I'm very good at integral and differential calculus 🫡

What a city. What a terrific awesome city!

This trip would not have been the same without an amazing support group 💪🏼 Thank you truly to everyone who was such a good sport and thank you to our döner guy 💚

It's a shame I didn't get a chance to work with everyone in the program, but to those I did, I hope our paths may cross again!

Some beloved extra performance highlights from a very fun-filled final year @ Eastman! Because Caroline is very timely with self promotion and does not wait to post until way after a thing has happened 😃😃

IN ORDER

1. PROBABLY ONE OF THE COOLEST THINGS I’VE EVER DONE playing the role of @aidacglem‘s anxiety in her beautifully choreographed dance capstone, ‘Ārām’ !! 1st pic by Tim Wilson & 2nd by @aspexi_images

2. @finn_bucci & I giving a little taste of our Scenes work performing ‘Dunque Io Son’ for @operaguildrochester’s ‘Bravo Nights’ last month! 😎😎

3. Performing BWV 36 in Eastman’s Bach Cantata series conducted by the fantastic @liyaoyu_ ! Featured is ‘Nun Komm, der Heiden Heiland’ with the lovely @abiliebegottsoprano!

4. Me & me twin François Le Roux during our special masterclass session where I referred to sex as “two people having a grand ol’ time together” to a room of 50 people almost 100% comprised of my teachers and peers :/ FUN NONETHELESS

5. Getting 2️⃣🔥2️⃣HANDEL with ‘Da Tempeste’ from my departmental performance! (don’t know what happened to sound😔😔)

6. Being a mysterious disembodied voice for @gssmith96’s masterful rendition of Janáček’s ‘Diary of One Who Disappeared’💜💜

7. I technically already posted about this I just like this last picture 😎😎

Thanks for having me Eastman! Can’t wait to see what’s next and hopefully tell you about it while it’s happening 👍👍

I can’t believe I’m halfway through mastering music!!
These pictures are filled with so many happy memories of this year’s music making! From a beautifully nuanced Pelléas and disco Die Fledermaus to collaborative recitals and singing in Elijah with my teacher @joshuaconyersopera- I am so deeply grateful for every faculty member, collaborator, and friend I have met along the way💕💕 here’s to another year!!

About a week late on my Fledermaus post…I had such a blast in this production. Feeling grateful for my colleagues and EOT for making the process so memorable. I am immensely proud to have shared the stage with y’all.

Story time…

5 years ago I was in an entirely virtual Die Fledermaus. (With none other than @octavio_director!) It feels like forever ago but, I remember small moments of joy screaming “Ha welch ein fest…” into a tiny iPod and Zoom microphone all the while holding a plastic wine glass that totally didn’t have Franzia in it…I say this to highlight a good moment in what was a rather bad time. Looking back, it’s clear that things are much worse now in the world…but it feels groovy to have put some light and laughter back into it. #stayinalive

The 2026 Rochester Broadcast, which united the Eastman Chorale, the Eastman saxophonists, the Eastman trombonists, the Eastman tuba players, the Eastman trumpeters, the University of Rochester’s Pep Band, and many other ensembles, was a two-of-a-kind experience. We were invited to embark upon a pilgrimage to Rochester’s scenic Parcel 5, where we were able to reconnect with Nature and with each other.

Oh Ida…it was so fun to be you. This production was one I’ll never forget. Getting to combine my love of Opera and 70’s music with all my friends was a dream come true. Thank you especially to @octavio_director and @timmy.long for your wonderful direction. It was an honor to work with you. Till we meet again, o Fledermaus
