🌟 On Saturday, September 24, Maria Drell, Founder and President of the Brazilian Cultural Center of Chicago, joined an inspiring panel titled #IAMENOUGH: Afro-Latinas Celebrating Identity, History, and Representation at the Latina Expo Chicago 2024. Alongside phenomenal Afro-Latina panelists Melissa Dupree, NK Gutiérrez, and Katherine Tinsley, guided by the fantastic moderator Sol Flores, Maria shared her perspectives as an Afro-Brazilian. Thank you to Cesar Rolon and the @latinaexpo_chicago team members for the incredible production! Last, but not least, a heartfelt thank you to all our friends and community members who supported us; your presence and energy made this event unforgettable - @chicagomama22 @talytamachado @aamaker72 @mforte43 @dj_shannon_harris from @audiopharmacology (not pictured here). 🌟#latinaexpo #empowerment #community #AfroLatinaVoices #gratitude #latinaexpo2024 #latinainbusiness #latinavoices #latinaleadership #latinarising #latinasincharge #soulatina #soylatina #inspiradora #latinasinpower #brazilianculturalcenter #afrobrazilian #bahia

My childhood friend and I checked out a vegetarian cafe on the north side of Chicago named Kale My Name. We made reservations and met for a treat. We started the tea with a nice selection of teas and an assortment of cocktails. My friend had a Bellini and I a hard cider (I know different right). We were brought a starter of red pepper and eggplant dip with warm pita. Very tasty! Then the tower of bruschetta and dessert bruschetta (strawberry, banana and bread with a chocolate drizzle) We sat reminiscing about growing up together and updating our life status. Shelly Boom is my oldest friend from my neighborhood and it’s good to see her thriving. Ask us where we’re going next or give a suggestion! #afternoontea #vegetarianafternoontea #kalemynamechicago #goodfriend #northside #tryingsomethingnew #dessertbruschetta #diningout #bruschettawithavocado #foodadventures #restaurantofthemonth #mskasey1968 mskasey1968food #mskasey1968eats #mskasey1968diningout
