Several months ago, one of you asked me to do a post on natural jewelry. The idea has been swirling around in my brain ever since, so when Meg from @mfsstones reached out to collaborate, I thought this was a great opportunity to start the conversation.

The necklace I’m wearing here is the natural stone amazonite, hand knotted on silk by Meg.

In my past life I wore a lot of semi-precious stones on sterling silver or gold fill, but once I had babies, jewelry was out the window and I didn’t start looking at it again until about five years ago when I began perusing the jewelry at the second hand shops. I was picking up costume jewelry, a mix of good and better metals, with one or two high quality pieces mixed in.

But.

If I’m thinking through my natural fiber lens, I should be considering my jewelry as well. And so the journey to improve my costume jewelry begins with this lovely amazonite necklace, and you may have noticed the tiger eye necklace I’ve been wearing recently as well. Both hand made, by @mfsstones .

Tell me your thoughts on jewelry. Are you making conscious choices too? I’d love to know your thoughts.
