Cheruvayal Ramettan.

Guardian of the original strains of the varieties of rice used by the Kuruchiya tribes in their farming.

A man who stood on the doorway of the past and the future.

It was an honor, Rametta , to shoot with you.

@wayofthebowfestival is back !

Thankfully, Subash had access to it through his mobile number and was able to retrieve control on our page.

Big thanks to @gathasatheesh

So the drama came to an end peacefully without any ransom payout.

To any potential hacker out there .... please don't.

Just don't.

Subash can't handle the tension and doctors have advised him a week long vacation to get his pressure down after all this.

Think of Subash.

Thanks to all those who reached out.

We have secured the site and now we have archers guarding the parameter.

There was a time in my life when the structure I called “me” collapsed.

Quietly.

And once that happened, it became difficult to experience identity in the same way again.
Thoughts appeared.
Memories remained.

But the certainty of a fixed “I” behind them… cracked.

Perhaps personality is far more fragile than we imagine.
A story constantly being narrated into existence.

And maybe that is why I was drawn toward old practices like archery.
Not to become someone.
But to learn how to stand in the world again.

@agasthyam_kalaripayattu bringing back the archery tradition back to its home through @indovedic

We lost a lot of our heritage and traditions during the time of colonisation.

A feared martial tradition was subdued for long enough... today ... its being claimed back...

History is finding a home in the present...

Way of the Bow

An unconventional traveller follows the country's oldest bow traditions into remote communities where every encounter uncovers disappearing knowledge, extraordinary people and timeless relationships between humanity and nature.

Way of the Bow is a cinematic docuseries about far more than archery

Its about forests that still heal
Crafts passed from hand to hand
Rituals carried through generations
And communities whose knowledge has survived because someone chose to remember

We have begun this journey.

Now we are looking for fellow travellers, people, institutions, brands, researchers, cultural organisations and story tellers who believe these living traditions deserve a global audience.

If this speaks to you, please share it.

Tag someone who may help us find a community, open a door , make an introduction, or bring this story closer to the world.

Some stories entertain.
Some stories preserve.
This one does both.
