You probably don’t understand it. 😰

But work is what comforts and helps me through tough times. It can be an escape. But this time it wasn’t. I had to escape my escape…?! My body and mind needed attention and I tried to escape that too. Being so fixated on finishing something caused me to blind myself to my basic needs - food, water, basic hygiene, sleep & overall self love.

ADHD is something I live with and am still learning to live with. This consuming behaviour is normal for those with Neurodiversities and is why those that have ADHD, really aren’t comfortable with the fact ADHD stands for Attention DEFICIT & Hyperactivity Disorder. We don’t have a deficit in attention, only for things that don’t give us the dopamine hit that is required for our brains to function. When this dopamine hit runs out, we’re in limbo - chopping and changing until something sticks for a longer period of time. Until again, the dopamine runs out and it’s not enjoyable anymore. This happened to me, but I tried to force it and look where that ended me… with my body and brain forcing me into a complete inability to do anything.

Don’t force yourself to be something you’re not. Just keep in touch with your own mind, body and soul and do what’s right for that without the guilt! You are worth the time and space, no matter how your brain works.

What have you learnt about yourself in the past 2 months? Have you experience burn out before?

A reminder that was inspired by today’s conversations in an epic 4 hour room with hundreds of people attending in the Flavourites Club via @clubhouse 🙌

Thank you to Nicola @curlyy_bae_ for raising this and being part of the greatest co-moderator crew I could ask for along with Parisa @__parisarose and Hass @hu_machina 🖤 YOU GUYS ARE INCREDIBLE 🖤

To those who attended, a big heartfelt thank you to you all as well. We truly appreciate each and every one of you 🙌
