i don’t go to the mall, cause people. i buy most of our stuff online. idk how many years it’s been since i went into tilly’s, zumiz, pac sun, or mainland. they used to be skate shops. timeless styles. NOW EVERYTHING HAS RHINESTONES!! the chick shit, the mens too. if it wasn’t for a distinct men/women section i couldn’t tell what was for who. it’s all tacky edgar clothes now. and hunting camo?! tf?! people still wear ed hardy & west coast choppers?! WHO PUTS RHINESTONES ON FLANNEL!!!! and the ripped, acid washed skinny jeans?! 🤮🤮🤮🤮

i’m still doing research, but these ancient people are my relatives. their mtdna has been tested, and we have a shared ancestor. we could be cousins, i could be a niece, i don’t think there’s any way to tell for sure. but our ancestors are the same.

it’s crazy when you think of your limited knowledge, of like, where your parents and grandparents came from. that’s usually how we label the origins of our roots. but there are soooo many that came before us. all the places they’ve lived and died are not places i would have thought my ancestors lived. part of different tribes and peoples, it’s fucking crazy.

and again, this is just on my mother’s side, through her dna she got from her mother, and her mother, and her mother…across all of the mtdna research i’ve done so far, i keep finding the claim that my mtdna is almost nonexistent in north america. it’s pretty fucking wild to know that i, my sisters, and all of our children carry this “rare” and unchanged ancient dna.

i better not ever hear a mf tell me i need to be deported, ever again.
