Mia Ella Eckley, 18, is excited to be a contestant in Miss Wales. She is deeply passionate about using her platform to advocate for mental health awareness and to support individuals experiencing homelessness within local communities. From a young age, Mia‑Ella has been committed to giving back. Each year, she has used her Christmas money to create care packages for people experiencing homelessness, providing essential items and offering support during a time of year that can be especially difficult. She has also taken part in Christmas food and gift shopping for individuals and families in need, driven by her belief that everyone deserves the ability to ask for help without shame. Mental health advocacy is particularly close to her heart. Mia‑Ella left school at the age of 14 due to anxiety, depression, and OCD. These challenges have shaped her as a person and strengthened her determination to create change. She is committed to helping break the stigma surrounding mental health, especially within educational settings, and to ensuring that young people feel supported, understood, and empowered to seek help. Through Miss Wales, Mia‑Ella hopes to inspire compassion, raise awareness, and make a meaningful difference in the lives of others.
