Smita is portrayed by @miamaelzer .
“In India, Smita is an untouchable. She dreams of giving her young daughter an education and will go to any length to make that happen, including leaving behind all she knows in search of a better future.” (text credit: picador.com)

The Braid Premiere Night In Mumbai.

This journey started 1 year ago, I got the opportunity to work on this project with my dear teacher Dilip Shankar sir, we were looking for a young girl to play an important part in this film, after many auditions, finally we found Sajda Pathan from Salaam Baalak Trust
Then I got the opportunity to work as Acting Coach for Sajda, this was possible just because of Dilip sir, he believed in me.

Last night in Mumbai I attended the first premiere of The Braid with cast and crew, director Laetitia Colombani - Auteur actress Mia Maelzer Fotini Peluso, Sajda Pathan, producers Deborah Benattar Marc Missonnir, Oliver Delbosc.
Everyone in the film have done a great job, this movie is an example of meaningful cinema, I am proud to be a part of this project.

Thank you so much Dilip sir, Laetitia Colombani, Deborah, Marc, Oliver and everyone who are part of this amazing film The Braid.
Gratitude!!
