POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Mia‘s work is the nest that holds all of these stories in one place.

It’s not just fodder.
It’s essential artistry to take you into a deeper more curious space when reading these stories.
Soon she will be sharing more insights about her process and how she came to the images that we have in the book.

And I think it’s fascinating to see creativity in action.
Stay tuned! 🍊

Meet myself and Mia in person at our FREE Storytelling Book Tour in November.

I can’t wait any longer.
I have to spill the beans!
We are ready to launch 🍊

Put this in your diaries.
If you are keen to find out more about The Orange Window & other fables for adults - I will be launching on 1st November.

The book will be available.
Yes I said it, on 1st November you can get your hands on the book as I will be sharing the link to purchase. 🍊

Our first launch date is on that day online, and I’ll be posting details for that very soon.
And there’s a live, in person event on 5th November at Luup in Mornington, where I will be signing books, reading you stories and Mia Rappel will be there.
Mia is our beautiful beautiful Artist and she will have prints available which you can take away with you!

You can ask all the questions, and allow yourself to be taken to another magical world where you will see yourself in the stories amongst all the weird and wonderful other characters and places I’ve created.

There will be ongoing Storytelling events, which I am getting in place now, but our first two events are 1st November and 5th November.

Mark your calendar and get excited. This is a very different kind of book, and being the performer that I am I cannot wait to read them to you in all their theatrical glory.

More information and links to follow very soon 🍊

I have written a book.
It is a book of fables for adults.
There are eight stories in all.
One of the stories is linked to my life story and is woven into four parts throughout the entire book.
I am very very blessed to be working with the beautiful delicate, tender, grounded, sophisticated Artist that is @miarappel and very happy and grateful that we will be offering some beautiful art throughout this book.
I live in a very visual world. I express myself through visuals and senses, film and theatre.
So it’s new to create stories and words in a book, but I hope people will feel them as I have written them through an exploration of the senses as well as the pictures that I have conjured through the telling of these stories.
They speak of children who’s voices are stolen and adults who’s yearnings call them. They share the strength of human spirit and the courage it takes to step into action.
These are stories I’d like you to read imagining your six year old tender self sitting in your lap.

Here’s a little teaser of some of the artwork that we will be sharing in this piece.
We are getting closer and closer my friends and I cannot wait to share this with you.

Introducing my new collaborator and artistic interpreter to my book of stories…
The utterly delicious and divine @miarappel ✨

There are some artists whose work doesn’t just sit on a wall… it moves through you.

A visual artist working across collage, sculptural installation and digital storytelling, Mia creates worlds that feel rich with texture, movement and meaning. Her work doesn’t just ask to be seen… it asks to be felt.

With over 20 years of practice, Mia has woven her artistry through everything from public art projects to immersive installations and beautifully considered design work - collaborating with names like Adidas, and working with councils and communities across Victoria.

Her pieces have graced spaces such as Gasworks Arts Park, Sculpture by the Sea Cottesloe and Chapel Off Chapel - and she’s taken her practice across the world through residencies in Spain, France and here on our own Mornington Peninsula.

There’s a kind of quiet magic in the way Mia works…
threads becoming stories,
colour becoming memory,
form becoming something almost alive.

I cannot wait for you to experience her work.

It’s layered.
It’s alive.
It’s… honestly… a little bit spellbinding.

Threads | 19 Nov - 11 Dec | Exhibition

Threads is a powerful new exhibition weaving together art, theatre, and performance, exploring our connection to nature, seasonal cycles, and elemental forces.

Three artists—Mia Rappel, Eamon Wyss, and Madhu Henry—present a dynamic blend of sculpture, photography, movement, and wearable art. Each piece offers a unique perspective on the natural world, with textiles, photography, and performance intertwining to create a living tapestry.
