Even though it wasn’t exactly how we planned things to go. This was such a special Bonnaroo 🌈❤️‍🔥

Made me remember why I had this as my favorite festival for so long

The diversity and genres of music alongside the immaculate vibes are so unmatched

And I’m so glad I got to experience it with these brothers through & through, and even meet other cool ass people that know how to get down and wonky with us ❤️

Thank you for the memories @bonnaroo , till next time. And fuck Manchester police iykyk

The Castle in Ybor City, often simply called The Castle, is a legendary nightclub in Tampa, Florida, known for its gothic, industrial, and alternative nightlife. But while it looks like a medieval fortress, it’s not an actual historic castle. Here’s a breakdown of its real history and cultural significance:

⸻

Origins & Early History
• Built in 1930: The building originally served as the Labor Temple, a meeting hall for Tampa’s cigar workers’ unions. Ybor City was a booming cigar manufacturing hub in the early 20th century, and labor organizing was a powerful force in the community.
• Over time, the building changed hands and purposes, reflecting the rise and fall of industry and nightlife in the area.

⸻

Transformation into The Castle
• 1992: The building was transformed into The Castle nightclub. Designed to evoke the look of a medieval fortress, it became a home for goths, punks, ravers, industrial music lovers, and anyone drawn to darker aesthetics.
• The Castle quickly grew into one of the most iconic alternative nightclubs in the southeastern United States.

⸻

Cultural Impact
• It hosts themed nights like Vampire Balls, Fetish Nights, and Industrial Dance Parties.
• The Castle has become a cultural landmark for Florida’s alt scene—frequented by artists, DJs, and creatives across the region.
• It has been featured in magazines, music videos, and travel blogs, often described as a “must-experience” venue in Tampa nightlife.

⸻

Fun Facts
• Though not a real castle, it features gothic architecture, stone walls, wrought iron, and dungeon-like decor.
• It’s one of the only venues in the area with multiple dance floors, each with its own vibe—industrial, EDM, darkwave, etc.
• Many visitors describe it as both eerie and magical, blending historical architecture with theatrical design.
