Designer at our upcoming catwalk. . .

Pearl Stone

Creatress of
Woodland Hoodlum

“Tēnā koutou katoa, ko Pearl tōku ingoa, nō Ōtautahi ahau. I’m Pearl & the creatress of Woodland Hoodlum, after someone christened me with the name - lil bit hoodrat / lil bit garden gnome.
It started as means to survive while living in Guatemala after 7 years on the road. I’d find unwanted trash, repurpose it into treasure. After being locked there in the pandemic for 6 month I finally returned home where my best friend helped me grow it initially (shout out @anthearubybond). The clothing pieces slowing became a staple on every dance floor in the Aotearoa underground music scene.
Here I switched from trash to the highest quality of ethical fabrics, mainly merinos, flax linens, organic cottons. I try to use any Fairtrade fabrics I find to not trash/abuse other countries. Each piece is unique, I barely make the same thing twice.
It took a back seat for 4yrs while my mahi on the front lines of the NZ youth prison system was all consuming, as in the name the hood’s struggle is dear to my heart.
When I had my baby boy I had to leave the youth lock up cause it slowly sucks all the joy and life from your soul. It’s meant I can focus on raising my own child and growing Woodland Hoodlum.
The question - I try to keep one of each type of clothing I create, so my wardrobe embodies my lil alter ego Woodland Hoodlum. I also don’t like people to buy a piece unless they are fucking inlove with it. I want people to feel a lil piece of themselves is broadcast when they wear it, not to sit in the back of their cupboard, so I don’t really try sell it just watch them go when it’s right. Kia Ora 🙏

I have spent the last week STUDYING word for word and absorbing every single insight offered by @michaalexa 's Personalise Human Design Reading and I truly believe this is a life-changing experience and would absolutely 10000% recommend you get yours done AND follow this amazing woman and all of her many ventures❤️🔥

So many of us invest $$ into how we look and what we are wearing but we forget to invest on that internal development too, and those one actually make the most difference🌀

As i state in the video, Michelle came into my life the first time 3 years ago and I started her taster course and even though I did not complete the course, the small exposure I had at the time truly altered my psychology & I will never be able to fully express the depth of gratitude I have that this human exists in my orbit. She is also the creator of the Labrodorite necklace you all see me wearing - @taika.talismans to get adorned with a spell-infused piece.

I truly believe knowing yourself, understanding who you are, where you are, why you are, outside of our societal expectations can offer such a feeling of content and happiness that we all deserve to feel.

Thank you @michaalexa, once again my admiration for you is beyond words💜 you are a gift, a goddess, a guide, a gateway. Thank you 🌀
