In 1995, Olusegun Obasanjo was arrested under General Sani Abacha’s military regime after being accused of involvement in an alleged coup plot against the government. Although many international observers and human rights groups questioned the legitimacy of the charges, he was convicted and sentenced to prison.

Obasanjo spent about three years in custody, enduring one of the most difficult periods of his life under military rule. Following the sudden death of General Sani Abacha in 1998, the new government led by General Abdulsalami Abubakar granted his release as part of Nigeria’s transition back to democracy.

Just a year later, in 1999, Olusegun Obasanjo was elected President of Nigeria and became one of the key figures in restoring democratic governance in the country.

A reminder that true leadership is often tested through adversity before shaping history.

The BTB Refit T-shirt is more than just a shirt, it is a reflection of culture, strength, and identity. Inspired by the Igbo people of Eastern Nigeria, its patterns represent resilience, unity, and progress. In Igbo tradition, designs tell stories, and this shirt carries that legacy, blending heritage with transformation.

This inspiration connects to leaders like Nnamdi Azikiwe, an Igbo nationalist and Nigeria’s first President, who stood against colonial rule and was imprisoned in 1936 for his activism. Despite this, he remained committed to the vision of a free Nigeria and played a key role in the country’s independence. His story reflects courage, discipline, and unwavering belief.

The BTB Refit design embodies that same spirit. It represents more than physical fitness, it stands for growth, resilience, and purpose. “Transforming Minds and Bodies” is not just a message, but a mindset for those committed to becoming stronger mentally and physically.
