GENE HUNTERS 🎬
Gene Hunters racconta quella strada.

GENE HUNTERS 🎬
Every photograph in the exhibition is an arrival point. Before it, there's the road: the snow, the wind, the slow pace of someone walking through the cold with a question in mind, how do we adapt when the environment shows no mercy?
Gene Hunters tells the story of that road. It's the documentary we made to tell the story of our research, and on Friday, October 9th we're screening it to close Chasing Adaptation at @betterpress_roma.
Setting the scene: wines by @icaro_vino and beers from @pour_roma. On the walls, until the very end, the works by Vert Project and @federico_ruxo.

SNEAK PEEK 👀 — BIOSONIC
Un microscopio. Un synth. L'inchiostro.

SNEAK PEEK 👀 — BIOSONIC
A microscope. A synth. Ink.
We're taking you behind the scenes of BioSonic. Under the lens, human cells are put under stress and projected live for the audience in real time: the invisible molecular world becomes live image and sound, thanks to @matteo.ruperto , @soffio_di_nik and @vazzinski.
But that's not all: @federico_ruxo will perform a live painting on photographs of the very cells, turning them into artworks in front of the audience. Science and art telling the same story, in two different languages, in the same space, at @betterpress_roma

BIOSONIC — THE SOUND OF STRESS 🔬🎧
What if stress could be heard?
For a special event during European Researchers' Night 2026, Vert Project presents BioSonic.
Saturday, September 26th, at the Chasing Adaptation exhibition, we discover what happens when biology becomes a sensory language.
A microscope will project, live, stressed human cells: what unfolds in their invisible world will transform into image and sound in real time, in front of the audience.
Bringing this alchemy between science and perception to life are composer @matteo.ruperto, @soffio_di_nik with his A/V creations, and @vazzinski at the microscope. An immersive audiovisual ritual.
The evening continues with wines by our friends from @icaro_vino.
📅 Saturday, September 26th, 7:00 PM
🎟️ Entry with a BetterPress card (€5) or a free donation starting from €5, supporting the exhibition and the artists.

OGGI APRE CHASING ADAPTATION! 🐋

TODAY CHASING ADAPTATION IS ON! 🐋
For years, Vert Project has studied how the environment shapes our bodies and how humans can adapt to extreme conditions. A research effort we carry forward as a @sapienzaroma, but one we also want to share beyond the lab, because for us, science is also about outreach.
That idea is the seed of Chasing Adaptation: A Visual Journey Into Human Extremes, opening tonight at @betterpress_roma The Vert Project team, together with @federico_ruxo, will share the story behind the Lofoten expedition and the work born from that experience. The evening continues with a selection of beers and ciders curated by @Pour Roma and a food corner by @vetro_roma.

What happens to our body in an extreme environment? That question is where Vert Project bega, and the answer is still out there, scattered across the most remote corners of the planet. We’re bringing our expedition to Norway’s Lofoten Islands home through an exhibition, Chasing Adaptation: A Visual Journey Into Human Extremes.

A journey through science, photography and art. The expedition’s photographs, reinterpreted by @federico_ruxo with marine creatures suspended among mountains, ice and endless nights, tell the story of adaptation, down to the molecular level, in an ever-changing environment.

From September 18th to October 9th, join us at @betterpress_roma, right beneath Trastevere Station, as we share what we discovered up there, between ice and whales. 🐋❄️

That’s a wrap on @hotyearfilm - a film brought to you by incredible talents both in front of and behind the camera, laughter elicited by new and old friends alike, OKC, late nights that became early mornings, Alani Nu cherry slush energy drinks, Knicks wins, hard-earned lessons, and Peelerz of all flavors.

Here are some non-spoiler-y snapshots of those things from the last two months that make me happy to be reminded about.

Congratulations to @roxyssorkin who fought for her vision every step of the way and made what I already know is an amazing film by the end of it. I hope you feel as proud as you deserve to be.

And thank you to our dedicated, stacked, awesome cast who helped bring these delicious, complicated characters to life across time @kathrynnewton @stormreid @fakeowenpainter @colesprouse @dovecameron @jsmithcameron @taj_cross @shayrudolph @mckennarroberts
