A carousel of @worldclass joy

Each time this year, my cup is filled with love and inspiration from the people this competition pulls together. Each year I’m excited to see what the world brings to the table, and each year I’m left humbled, elated, overjoyed, and exhausted. This year was certainly no different.

How lucky we were to have @prophecybar offered a residency - a space for people to laugh, to enjoy good music (or terrible depending on whether an Italian was in charge), to dance, to sing, to drink, to cry, and to cheers with each other is a highlight that will live in my heart forever. Thanks to everyone who came to see us, and specific love to the @worldclass and @globalbartending teams for this opportunity and to help our vision come to life @theelaney @globalbartending_ross, it was so appreciated.

Of course none of it would have been possible without our incredible team - @teddywilkie @mikerose999 @jmcoker1 you built the vision and the stage. @markus_rule, you showed off your wizard status, and @fiftytimesfour, you show off why I’m so lucky we’ve hitched our stars together, you shine so bright and I’m so glad the world gets to see it.

As if this post wasn’t sappy enough, to our champion, @cocktailcowgirl - I’ve watched you grow over the last several years, and to see you on the global stage certainly brought a tear to my eye. Your earnestness, sweetness, excitement and drive is something that inspires everyone around you - myself certainly included. Canada could not have wished for a better champion in a year of back to back wins and on our home turf - you handled it with a grace and poise well beyond your years. Regardless of whatever the outcome was going to be, you came into this competition a champion, and you leave it a champion.

Finally, to backbone of our @worldclasscanada family, my friend @michaelarmistead - thank you for putting all these pieces in place for all of your kids to not only be a part of the global final, but to be highlighted throughout it. The work you put in on your side so we can feel the momentum on ours is so, so appreciated. You brought this family together, and for better or worse, you are stuck with us.

The World Class Global Finals kicked off in Toronto today with the @johnniewalker Challenge.
Over 50 competing bartenders from across the globe battled it out to create three serves with the iconic blended Scotch - one long, one short, one up.

To add to the pressure, esteemed judges, an audience of hundreds of VIPs, PLUS Johnnie Walker master blender, Emma Walker, were watching their every move. 👀
