I am obsessed with all things Sicilian, so how felicitous it is that @sicilianroastmanila just opened their 3rd branch in @molitolifestylecenter for their 10th Anniversary 👏🏻 The hearty dishes served amidst the charming ambience of the restaurant is the ultimate setting for your next date night, group hang, family gathering…or all of the above! Just in time for all sorts of get-togethers this Holiday Season 🎉 From flavorful pastas, delicious pizzas, mouthwatering steaks, and their take on Tiramisu - it’s impossible to choose a favorite, and we’ll definitely be back for more.
Saluti! Cent’anni! A viatu! 🥂 We’ll see you again soon.

Since I’ve gone back to eating beef, I’ve taken the chance to partake in its many varieties and iterations. Call it a long-awaited comeback since I haven’t had beef in 14 years.

And one of the more high-grade cuts I’ve had is Matsusaka beef.

Known as the “Queen of Wagyu,” Matsusaka has an exceptionally low melting point of around 12 degrees Celsius, which gives it that melt-in-your-mouth texture. While rarely exported due to limited quantities and strict certification standards, Ito Ranch and @dprimecuts successfully brought this rarity to the Philippines.

“This launch is about more than introducing our beef to a new market—it’s about sharing the care, patience, and generations of tradition that go into every step of raising our cattle,” says Hiroki Ito, third-generation head of Ito Ranch in Mie Prefecture. Founded in 1953, Ito Ranch is Japan’s most awarded Matsusaka producer, with over 35 competition wins and a three-year Grand Champion streak from 2017 to 2019.

“We are honored to be the first to bring Ito Ranch Matsusaka Beef to the Philippines,” says Lorenzo Vega, CEO of Doubleday Enterprises. “Doubleday has always sought to raise the bar for what fine dining can be in this country. Securing this partnership is the culmination of years of building trust with the world’s top producers—and proof that the Philippines deserves a seat at the global table of culinary excellence.”

As for the best way to enjoy Matsusaka beef? The possibilities are endless, but Vega notes that he personally prefers his medium rare, while Ito cheekily says that he likes his raw. “It’s the oleic fats,” they laugh, explaining that the unsaturated fat is what makes the beef feel as though it’s dissolving when eaten.

Nevertheless, to each their own, as this prized cut can be seamlessly integrated into many dishes—from raw beef nigiri to gyudon, sukiyaki, or even a straightforward sear with a light dusting of salt.

Ito Ranch Matsusaka beef will be available in partner establishments like @teppanyaph and @sicilianroastmanila, but will also be available for direct ordering, whether for business or personal consumption.
