Vintage visions: Lugz ads from the 1990s 🗣️🗣️🗣️ . . . . . . . . Photographer, Michael Benabib, captured some brilliant ads for Lugz in the 90s. The composition, framing and aura that’s exuded from these photos screams pleads of the golden era. Featuring Snoop Dogg, Eric Sermon, Master P, AZ, Andre 3000, Bigboi, Funk Flex, Keith Murray, Redman, & Rakim, Lugz was a brand that embodied that time’s culture. Benabib has shot for GQ, Rolling Stone, Vibe, Vogue, The Wall Street Journal, but these are a couple of our favorites from his work. An illustrious career fighting the hands of time with his photography. Lugz would go on to get a major push from Birdman aka Baby in the early 2000s, but the brand is still going strong today. Fashion and streetwear have always gone hand in hand with Hip-Hop. Shout to Benabib for capturing the time so effectively, forever a classic 🗣️🗣️🗣️ [LUGZ, 90s, MICHAEL BENABIB, THROWBACK, STREETWEAR, BOOTS, CLOTHING]

#Saturdayart. If you get a chance, go check out #rogerguenveursmith at the @nytw79. ##rogerguenveursmith - actor, director, and writer who was a friend and collaborator of Jean-Michel Basquiat #rundontwalk Roger Guenveur Smith’s In Honor of Jean-Michel Basquiat is nothing short of breathtaking. Carrying the full weight of brilliance and profound grief, Smith delivers a sharp, hauntingly beautiful one-man show - Rooted in his real life friendship w/ Basquiat, the piece captures the ambition, shared pressure, and tragic vulnerability of a genius lost far too soon. It’s raw, deeply personal, and incredibly moving. Huge thank you to Patricia, director of New York Theatre Workshop, for being a FORCE.

25 years without you 💔 It's taken a lot of courage to post today, but for Aaliyah and for those who've been following our page for many years, it would be a disservice if we didn't post, especially today. Hard to imagine that someone who you idolised growing up as a role model, would tragically lose their life so soon. #Aaliyah had lived such a fulfilling life in the short space of 22 years, that we often wonder where she would be today in the world of music, modelling, fashion, acting and much more! A life cut so soon, with so much more to give to the world and us...her fans...the /.\ nation, who cherished her pure angelic aura and kindred spirit that she was. Knowing today is also my late Father's birthday also hits me in a way that I could never have imagined. Despite always dreading this month every year, I stand with strength, courage and passion...to honour your everlasting impact, and undeniable lasting legacy. With peace, love and light always... This past summer, I had the wonderful opportunity to work alongside our founder, @thegoodvibesblendedgarden , fellow educators, community members, and students to transform an empty lot into a vibrant garden space for everyone to enjoy. The mission goes far beyond planting seeds—we are dedicated to fostering community, health, and education. Through a practice of "artistic caregiving," we blend literacy, nature, theater, dance, and music to engage individuals of all ages and learning abilities. Our goal is to nurture creativity and play through inclusive, hands-on experiences. Throughout the year, we bring people together by hosting interactive community events, pop-up play sessions, art and foraging workshops, and seasonal harvest gatherings in gardens across the NYC area. To help us keep growing and providing these vital community-building experiences, please consider making a donation today. Your support means the world to us! #thepowerofaplantedseed

I don’t know why but I’m finding many #Aaliyah stuff from OIAM era, and believe me this stuff is really hard to find because they are from the 90s, but I think she’s guiding me 🥹 Here we’ve got this iconic Mexican yin yang arm bracelet met ring that Aaliyah used from her photoshoot with Michael Benabib, isn’t it cool? 🤍🖤 Stay tuned, more to come 🫶🏽 [📸: Michael Benabib❤️]
