I entered into a relationship and dove in hard and fast.

It all felt so magical.

We were moving at a rate of knots.

It felt like “the one” even though I don’t even believe there is a “one”…

And even though we were hurtling forward building a future together, not one part of me was scared.

What’s the worst that can happen, I thought?

What could I really find out that would be so insurmountable?

I trusted myself.

That’s who I trusted.

I trusted me.

I trusted my judgement.

I trusted my ability to set a boundary.

I trusted my ability to communicate.

I trusted my ability to apologize and take responsibility.

I trusted I could leave if I needed to.

If it all came crashing down, I knew I’d be ok.

So I let myself go all in and splash my joy and happiness all over the place.

“Aren’t you afraid of the evil eye?” an Instagram follower asked after I started posting publicly and profusely about my new love story.

“Nope,” I said.

“People can evil eye all they want. I’m feeling this fully and fiercely and if it blows up tomorrow, I’ll be fine.”

Why?

Because I was sure of my own anchor.

I was fully invested in the relationship - but what I knew without a doubt… is that the relationship wasn’t ME.

It wasn’t the source of my fulfillment.

It was an expression of it. ✨✨✨

And then, the very next day, it all crashed down.

Hard and fast.

And it was a shock.

I couldn’t have seen it coming.

But once I saw what I needed to see, I didn’t negotiate with reality.

My about-turn was swift and certain.

And while I grieved, my center was steady.

I held myself through each feeling and let it pass through.

I know this process.

I’m good at letting things come and letting them go - not by ignoring them, but by being in healthy ceremony with them.

Grief is a sacred ritual.

And as the imprint was metabolized through my body, I moved on with an open heart, ready to keep loving.

Because I didn’t actually lose anything.

I came full.

And I left full.

Actually none of it was random. It never is.

10 years ago I moved to Israel to work as a journalist.

At the time, it looked like I’d found “the thing.”
An international news career. New stories every day. New people. New places. Up close to life in all its complexity.

But underneath my love of storytelling was something deeper: a relentless desire to understand people, suffering, happiness, purpose, God, change, consciousness… and myself.

Since losing my dad at 9 years old, I’d been searching.
Searching for answers, for peace,for somewhere inside myself I could finally settle.

I thought I was studying the world.
But really, I was studying myself through the world.

Alongside my media career, I was obsessively studying meditation, nervous systems, spirituality, behavioural science and transformation - not because I had life figured out, but because I didn’t.

And long before I ever left the news, I was already preparing for this life without realizing it.

Back when I was still a reporter in Australia, I asked friends to come to my house each week so I could practice teaching them meditation.

Not because I had a business plan or certainty.
But because I wanted to know if this was truly something I wanted to devote my life to.

Years later, after building what once felt like my dream career, I realized something: what was once my dream had quietly become something I was settling for.

So I jumped.

Not from A to B.
Just from A.

No real plan.
Just a deep knowing that staying would cost me more than leaving.

And what looked from the outside like a sudden transformation… was actually 25 years in the making.

That’s the thing nobody tells you about purpose:
it’s rarely linear.

Your calling is often quietly weaving itself through every chapter long before you can consciously see it.

The heartbreaks.
The obsessions.
The questions.
The detours.
The things that cracked you open.
The things you couldn’t stop caring about.

Today I celebrated 10 years in Israel surrounded by some of my friends and students meditating together.

And somewhere inside me, the younger version of myself finally understands:

none of it was an accident.

MIDBURN 2025 – Post #1 – DiscoTown by Day & Night

This year was a special one.

DiscoTown felt less like a dancefloor and more like a cocoon - layers of fabric floating above us, red light washing everything in warmth, a space designed for both movement and stillness.

By day, it was soft, human, almost meditative.
People resting, listening, talking, being.
By night, the same space pulsed differently intimate disco energy, low ceilings, close bodies, shared rhythm.

For me, MIDBURN arrived with challenges that became gifts.

All my sets at Camp were played sitting down.

No pacing, no leaning into the booth just presence. It forced me to listen more carefully, to let the music lead instead of my body (and break my back)

And for the first time ever, I played a 70 BPM ambient set. No drops. No urgency. Just space, texture, and trust.Watching people lie down, breathe, drift that was a moment I won’t forget (sleeping friends were huge compliment)

DiscoTown held all of it:
Stillness and sweat.
Ambient and disco.
Day and night, without contradiction.

This is Post #1 because this experience deserves to be unfolded slowly.

Burning Man Post #3
A Burn experience is is many things - but at its core, it’s an adventure of the heart. Out in the dust, every ride, every sunrise, every wild detour becomes magic when you share it with people you truly connect with & love.

This year wasn’t just about the art cars, the music, or the desert glow (though all of those blew my mind) it was about laughing until sunrise, getting lost and found again, and holding onto the moments that remind you why you came here in the first place.

Adventure feels bigger, brighter, and bolder when you’re surrounded by your people. And this burn… I couldn’t have asked for better souls to share it with. ❤️🔥
