This wave at Peahi definitely stands out in my mental uploads. This was 2016 and I was the first one in the water on my 11’1” #singlefin . My dad was in my boat in the channel, not sure what was going through his mind. I knew I was either gonna catch the biggest wave of my life, or get really pounded. Fortunately @kai_lenny @ian.walsh and @granttwigbaker paddled out with roughly only 5 of us in the water for an hour or so. I was was fortunate enough to get called into this beauty.

Surfing is such a gift. A way of life like no other. The ocean has taught me a lot and continues to be a place to reflect, let go and express. I’m feeling really grateful to the ancient Hawaiians who started riding waves with canoes, Koa surfboards and paipo boards. Also feeling grateful for the pioneers who paved the way for us to continue this self expressive art of poetry in motion. To me it doesn’t matter what you ride. Longboard, shortboard, bodyboard. We are all connected and we are just walking each other home in this cosmic dance called life✨
