Hit my first @whenwewereyoungfest yesterday & honestly it was fuckin’ rad. Watching so many old friends up there crushing & getting the love they deserved was beautiful. Hearing some songs I was lucky enough to help birth still echo over the casinos after all these years reminded me how much they changed my life too. That was pretty damn special. But beyond the nostalgia, it reconnected me to what a real music scene looks like. It grows in garages and van tours not algorithms. It's all heart. Grateful I got to play a tiny part in this (still beating) one 🤍🤘🤍 #vivaPATD

@moodyjoodymusic 🤝 @photofinishrecords // can finally say that a few months ago we signed a record deal with @photofinishrecords!! i am so grateful to these incredible people for believing in this project.

4 years ago, @kaylahall introduced me to @kaitiesomething and told me the two of them wanted to start a band together. i made the first song with them, and when kayla asked if i wanted to join the band, i politely declined and probably laughed thinking i would never be in a band again. 3 songs later.. i came running and asked if it was too late to change my mind. best decision i’ve ever made.

i met kayla & kaitie at a time where i felt disconnected from a lot of the music i was making, and immediately with them we were all on the same page and everything felt so natural and authentic. it’s been 4 years, but it feels like the beginning & i cannot be more excited for this next chapter with the @photofinishrecords family 🥂

I’ve been keeping a secret 🥹 In March, my band & I signed our first ever record deal with @photofinishrecords!!! It’s hard to sum up in a caption what this means to me, but here I go trying.. ✨
I moved to Nashville 8 years ago not having any idea what would be in store for me. It has been far more challenging & life altering than I could have ever imagined. I have spent years, searching, trying new things, giving up, starting again, losing just about everything I thought I knew, wondering if moving here was worth it, questioning every decision I’ve ever made.
In 2020 through the midst of it all, @kaylahall & I, out of boredom & fun, decided to put out a song we wrote together called “The Heat” under a random band name. Moody Joody. She called @andrewpachecomusic to see if he’d produce it & us 3 working together for the first time felt like the most organic & authentic thing I had done in Nashville up until that point.
We spent the next 3 years putting out singles, playing shows, working at restaurants, at points working 3-4 jobs at a time all while trying to keep the dream & excitement alive. Until I hit burnout. I reached a point at the end of 2023 where I truly felt like I couldn’t keep going. I started to heavily consider quitting music, the band, leaving Nashville, I couldn’t do it all anymore.
When I say @photofinishrecords stepped in at the perfect time, I mean the PERFECT time. It was just a couple days after talking to the band about my burnout & my considerations that they offered us a deal.
It was an easy decision after getting to know the team. We knew we couldn’t be luckier to have this incredible crew on our side.
The last few months of being signed with them has already reignited the fire in me that has always been the most familiar thing about me. My love of music, my passion for creating, & my delusional positivity when it comes to getting everything you want out of life remains alive & well. ❤️‍🔥 I cannot wait for what’s to come. Thank you for trusting us @photofinishrecords. Thank you @kaylahall & @andrewpachecomusic for being my best friends & dream collaborators 🥹 Let’s RIDE!! 🚀

Been keeping a big ole secret since March 🥲 Moody Joody signed a record deal with @photofinishrecords & it still feels so surreal & the journey has only just begun 🥲 We threw a song (The Heat) out into the world 4 years ago without a plan or any other songs lined up, didn’t even get the song officially mastered, & gave Andrew a literal 2 week deadline to finish. Kaitie and I shot the cover in my basement after scheming and joking about being in a girl band for 2 years and the rest is history. Collaborating with @andrewpachecomusic & @kaitiesomething has been truly such a tender experience and we are so excited for this next chapter. I can’t imagine being on this journey with anybody else and am so fucking thankful for the both of you. To younger Kayla who listened to country radio and wrote lyrics in spiral notebooks without any musical background, who got cut from zero hour choir bc your teacher told you she would’ve liked to see you perform better, to the girl who watched Hannah Montana and figured Nashville was the way to go, thank you for not giving up. To adult Kayla, this is where the fun begins & don’t forget to enjoy the ride. Thank you @photofinishrecords for believing in us, I couldn’t ask for a better team to bring this MJ project to life. More music, shows, fun, laughs, tears on the way. 👯‍♀️🩵 Let’s ride 🤠
