When we understand that each day isn’t one more day, but one less, we’ll start giving more value to the things that truly matter.

HYROX Boston!!
I had a blast competing and what a humble experience it was. I missed my goal by about 25 min. Big hit to the ego as I thought I would have done much better than I did.

There were quite a few downfalls unfortunately. I started off way too strong but in my defense, I was so amped up and had a great support system there to watch which made me feel like I could run through walls 😅 Right from the starting line I was cruising being 1 of 5 in the lead. But that shifted quickly. I pushed as hard and ran as fast as I could from the start… and what a mistake that was!

The sleds ruined my quads to the point where they cramped and locked up for awhile. I was stuck at two stations because of this early setback. Once on the sleds and once during the bag lunges. I was stuck at each station for almost 8 minutes because of this and that’s way too long! Every minute is a factor.

Had I paced myself early on I think I would have done much better. I simply wasn’t prepared enough but hey, this was an incredible learning experience I can’t wait to do it again 🙌🏾

Despite the fact that I was concerned I wasn’t going to be able to finish and despite the fact that I honestly contemplated throwing in the towel at a few different moments. I feel so grateful that I didn’t, that I was able to push through the pain and self doubt that comes to mind in our everyday lives.

I’ve come the conclusion, that this is what it’s all about. Not competing with anyone else. Just yourself, pushing your self to your absolute limit and finishing strong. I feel accomplished and so shouldn’t anyone else who had the heart to finish. I give massive props to men and women who finish this at a sub 60. It’s incredible 🙌🏾

I have a feeling this is the start of a great journey ahead. Until next time @hyroxamerica ⚡️⚡️⚡️
