We saw you from across the bar and we HATE your vibe. Please leave. 😉 Seriously, I miss this guy so much! Also, unlike other friends I post photos with, he’s gay AND single, so shoot your shot! I think I heard Lawson say it’s time for an Uncle Zach visit…so Zach, please come see us soon!

Your data is power. Your face is data. Protect both.

At @austintechweek panel presented by @soundchecklive.io at @antonesnightclub @michaelzachary_ reminded us: platforms track more than streams, they track identity.

Prosper XO is building tools so creators own their data, not corporations.

We couldn’t have asked for a better launch event. It reminded us how powerful community is and gave us a chance to celebrate months of work bringing version 1 of Soundcheck to life. We also sparked some great conversations about how AI can support creatives.

Soundcheck is shaping the future of live events with a community that’s all in.

Big love to everyone who made it happen: @djshani @michaelzachary_ @lesrav1111 @prosperxo @zeale @jonathan.bolton @austintechweek @topdowncreative @benji.uzo @sirwomanmusic @jonathanterrell_official @kaluandtheelectricjoint @antonesnightclub

So excited to share my thoughts THIS Wednesday 10/22 on an @austintechweek @capitalfactory panel at the iconic @antonesnightclub (never thought I’d be taking the stage there!).

This is such a great combination of my passions: music, tech, and community. Thanks to @soundchecklive.io and @benji.uzo for inviting me to speak and for letting me advise them as they take on the big dogs.

Looking forward to joining these awesome folks on the panel @michaelzachary_ @lesrav1111 @zeale Ying Yao

On October 22nd, we’re celebrating a new, simple way to manage gigs with our local Austin community. Hosting the celebration will be KUTX’s very own @djshani 🎧

DJ Shani invented “The Groove Temple®” on WLUW-88.7FM in 1998, blending soul, funk, jazz, and Chicago’s vibrant rave scenes. She hosted her 4 hour, weekly Deep House radio show to fill the void left by the canceled WBMX. A polyglot and advocate for the mobility impaired, Shani has written for 5Magazine and L’Afrique, been featured on The worked at Gramaphone Records, and performed overseas. Returning stateside, she continued producing “The Groove Temple.”

In 2006, she collaborated with Glenn Underground and Jay-Cee on a French-language spoken word piece. In 2009, she moved to Austin, Texas, playing venues like Empire Control Room, Sahara Lounge, and Moody Center. In 2016, she launched “UNITED” and “TOGETHER” in 2021, both nods to the African American community, the diaspora and its House music connection. She produced a few MYKUTX shows and eventually joined KUTX in 2022, relaunching “The Groove Temple®” on the air waves, every Friday night from 11 p.m. -12 a.m.”

Up next in our Artist intros, we have @jonathanterrell_official ✨

Jonathan Terrell of Austin is a Texas legacy by now. Known for his explosive, cosmic country live shows and deeply personal songwriting that bounces somewhere between Townes Van Zandt, Springsteen and David Lynch, Terrell weaves his strange designs of western, folk and rock n roll into a sound, uniquely Texan and positively otherworldly.

Since his breakout album, Westward, JT has garnered high praise from Rolling Stone, RS Country, Forbes and American Songwriter. He has toured internationally, played Stagecoach, Red Rocks and even a 55 show stint playing guitar and singing harmonies in the Grammy Nominated country band, Midland.

With his fifth studio album of genre bending country disco and psychedelia, DOVE (which came from a dream) Terrell has once again burned his own sound to the ground and emerged from the ashes, reinvented with the help from members of The Black Pumas, Midland, Silverada and Depeche Mode.

“In my dream I was in a record store and I pulled a record from the shelf with a big ole dove on the cover. I asked the clerk at the counter whose record that was. He looked up from his magazine and said, “That’s your record. Time to fly.”

We’re really looking forward to having Jonathan perform at our launch party on Oct 22nd! ✨
