What happens when the “witch” stops being a symbol of fear, and becomes one of power?

For @witches.by.michellejourdan, the answer takes the form of sculptural leather, distorted anatomies, 3D-printed forms and painstaking handmade craftsmanship. Founded by Michal Sella and Yarden Haber, the emerging label transforms the witch from a figure historically used to control women into one that represents resistance, sexuality, knowledge and unapologetic power.

From hollow leather thighs to wet-moulded silhouettes, every piece challenges the idea of what clothing is supposed to do to the body.

But the collection isn’t about making witch costumes. It’s about making garments that refuse to ask permission to take up space.

“Witchcraft is Not a Curse”:

The project by Michal Sella and Yarden Haber, from the Department of Jewelry and Fashion, seeks to reconsider the image of the witch, historically used as a derogatory label for women who deviated from the norm and as a tool of exclusion and control.

Through garments, accessories, shoes, and interventions in the body’s silhouette, they create a dark and bold aesthetic world that combines traditional and contemporary techniques, reclaiming the figure of the witch as a symbol of power, complexity, and freedom.
