This meat grinder is making a cross country trip from my late Grandmother's house in Boston, Massachusetts to me, here in Los Alamos, California.
•
It was originally used by my GREAT Grandmother to make #choppedliver for the family.
•
I'd much rather have my Grandma around, but at least this way, she'll get a permanent seat @peasantsfeast when we open.

I'm so proud of these kids!

Last night, they took over @fulloflifefoods as the culmination celebration of their Culinary Arts program taught by the talented @chef_bmarkee
After learning basic culinary skills and restaurant operations over the past few weeks, the kids were able to demonstrate what they learned by preparing, cooking, plating and serving pizza and salad for their friends, families and community members.

It was magical.

When I was younger, baseball was life. Instilled in me by my father. Every waking moment was directed towards the game. My dad was the guy who would pick me up from school and drive straight to the field, even when practice didn't start for another 2 hours. It was the only time we ever really spent together. If we weren't playing, we were watching.
I didn't know it at the time, but this game he was so passionate about would teach me much more than how to catch a pop fly or turn a double play. Teamwork, work ethic, resilience, humility, sacrifice....to name a few.

As I got older, my father's health started to rapidly decline. At the same time, so did my love for the game. I stopped playing when he passed in 2002, I was 16.

His last wish was for me to play at Fenway Park, where he grew up, in Boston, by way of "The Jimmy Fund" a charity that raises money to support cancer treatment and research.
Of the hundreds, maybe thousands of games my dad attended at Fenway Park, he never got to see me play there.

He never got to see the Red Sox win the World Series.
I miss him now more than ever.
