‘Special’ by Dexter in the Newsagent @dexterinthenewsagent ✨ At IRL Group, we’re passionate about nurturing & championing the next generation of talent. South London’s own Dexter In The Newsagent, signed to @clint419 Rulestheworld Records has been making waves with her deeply personal debut mixtape ‘Time Flies’, a poignant project shaped by her father’s passing. Themes of time & transformation beautifully permeate her sound, creating a haunting & captivating listening experience. We collaborated with Dexter & Chante, a first-time Director to bring their vision for ‘Special’ to life. Shot on Kodak 16mm to capture the authentic, raw emotion & to add a timeless feel to the video. “Given the gravity of the loss she’s processing, there’s a profound openness in Dexter’s approach to romantic love, especially on album highlight ‘Special’. She mixes nostalgia with the warmth of ’00s R&B, the tenderness of Pink Pantheress’ honeyed vocals & earthy finger-picked guitar work, into a track that blossoms like a morning glory at dawn.”(Pitchfork) We’re thrilled to see Dexter now has her very own @colorsxstudios slot, performing ‘Special’ live. A well deserved platform for her unique voice & artistry. ‘Special’ by Dexter in the Newsagent Production Company: IRL Group Director: Chante SS Exec & Senior Producer: Alicia Stratford Producer: Lina Portnova DOP: Lawrence Hughes 1st AC: Onur Öezden 1st AD: Michael Baugh Production Manager: Shanona Production Runner: Brierley Mongini Editor: Michelle Koops Movement Director: Zahra Van Nguyen CAST: Friends: Lottie, Rene, Tammy & Urielle. So proud to share the documentary we created about artist @mandyelsayegh for @boijmans. Filmed in connection with her exhibition ‘Figure, Field, Grid’ the portrait dives into Mandy’s process as she transforms space into a layered world where image, material, and meaning intertwine. From her London studio, Mandy offers an intimate window into her practice and the rhythms behind her work. Click on the link in bio to watch the full documentary. Endless gratitude to the incredible team who made this project possible: ARTIST Mandy El-Sayegh — @mandyelsayegh PRODUCTION Director — Ashley Röttjers @ashleyrottjers Producer — Kamila Szymkiewicz @kamilaszymkiewicz Production Company — kropka. @kropka___kropka Director of Photography — Harry Grunfeld @harry_grunfeld Sound Recordist — Michele Bianchin POST-PRODUCTION Editor — Michelle Koops, OKAY Studio @michelle.editor @okaystudio Colour — Fox Bamber Barron, Pundersons Gardens @foxbamberbarron @pundersonsgardens Sound Design — Michele Bianchin Film Processing — Kodak Film Lab London Film Scanning — Digital Orchard @digital_orchard STUDIO TEAM Tamara Hart @cyber_fem Anna Pigott @annapigeaux Rory Strudwick @rorystrudwickartstudio Rosa Wolf Made possible by @ammodoart
