Thank you to all the beautiful peoples who came along to celebrate the launch RED DUST RUNNING at @avidreader Reader on Sunday.

It was an afternoon of love, laughter, song and conversation. And I am grateful for everyone’s time and generosity in sharing their Sunday afternoon with me, and my dear friend, @lauren_bandit Lauren Appo, who continuously blows me away with her analysis of my work, and her thoughtful questions. It’s a joy to be in conversation with Lauren, regardless of the genre or story I’m trying to tell.

Thank you to Fiona, Kris, Elenor and all the team at Avid for being the most wonderful hosts, as always. And for the stunning cake!

There were so many friends there, some of them captured here in the reel. Apologies to those I missed speaking to and / or getting a pic with (my phone was not on me most of the time).

I hope if you have the chance to read Annabelle’s journey in RDR, that something in her story makes you smile because Red Dust Running is a story from my heart to yours.

Have a beautiful day everyone. 🩷

Thank you to all the beautiful peoples who came along to the @avidreader Dance for Literacy event last night, raising funds for the @indigenousliteracyfoundation

The Polish Club came to life with a deadly 80s playlist and vids masterfully curated (and at times performed) by @laurajeanmckay and @doigdoig

Party-goers rocked up in their best Madonna and Cindi Lauper outfits, fluro accessories, leg warmers, big hair (or side ponies). We even had our own Blues Brothers!

There’s nothing like some Footloose, Fame and Funky Town tunes and dance moves to bring people together for a good cause, is there?

Thank you to @fionastager and the team at Avid for all the work in pulling the night together, to @mirandiriwoe and Laura-Jean for managing the song requests, to @suzyruthwilson for donating a gorgeous @delvene_cockatoo_collins_art top to raffle, and huge thanks to all those who donated so generously. We raised $3750 which is a stellar effort for the first time. Next year we go bigger and better.

Until then, Aunty is resting her weary legs until the next dance off!

A huge thank you to all the fabulous dreamers who attended our February workshops last week. We focused on our mission: to put social injustice to bed.

Here’s a highlight from the workshop where Anna shared her inspiring thoughts on why modern slavery is an issue we can’t ignore.

Our upcoming workshops in March will continue the conversation on combating social injustice. As Anna explained, “together we can make a real difference”.

We are also super excited to reveal our new branding which we’ve been creating for months. We will send you an event invite soon.

Thank you for continuing to be part of the sleepwear revolution. The best is yet to come.
