What a beautiful evening celebrating the transformative work of @thedenycegravesfoundation! So grateful for the invite to take part in such a spectacular gala and for the opportunity to speak about the profound impact of this foundation and the extraordinary support system @gravesmontgomery has created for so many young singers.

Part 2 of the voice type video viral sensation is here! You spoke and we listened! In this video an even larger group of professional singers got together to give an example of each voice type.

They are: Bass, Bass-baritone, Baritone, Tenor, Counter-tenor, Contralto, Mezzo-soprano, Soprano and Descant. The piano roll you see in the video indicates the common range you’ll encounter for each voice type.

Within each voice type there are further sub-types, such as lyric, dramatic and soubrette within the Soprano range. It’s a very cool world worth exploring!

A bit about the singers: Some of us are on the road performing, and some of us are at home preparing for our next gig! All of us specialize in opera but often branch out to other disciplines. Check us out here:

Bass-baritone: @musangqungwana

I want to extend a huge thanks to Pastor Napolean Harris, who opened his church to us today in promotion of the world premiere of “Missy” at the Cleveland International Film Festival this Tuesday, April 14th, at 5 PM (Playhouse Square, Ohio Theater). Here is Michelle “Missy” Johnson singing “Give Me Jesus.”

Ever wonder the order of voice types? We’re a group of professional singers that joined together to show you!

The main types are: Bass, Baritone, Tenor, Mezzo Soprano, Soprano. If you’re a chorus singer, you might see SATB, which means Soprano, Alto (same as Mezzo Soprano), Tenor, Bass.

The piano graphic you see in the video indicates the common range you’d encounter in a choir for each voice type.

There are other voice types as well, such as Bass-Baritone, Countertenor and Contralto. AND each voice type has sub types within it. It’s a very cool world worth exploring.

A bit about the singers: Some of us are on the road performing, and some of us are at home preparing for our next gig! All of us specialize in opera but often branch out to other disciplines. Check us out here:
