I recently created these two stunning arrangements for @biancalorenne and their stunning new collection. Personally, my favourite linens; my own bedspreads and comforters from 15 years ago remain as beautiful as ever!

Working with Alison, the owner of Bianca Lorenne, was so much fun. She provided the colour palette, and I was thrilled to source everything from my garden. Designing these florals for a local favourite was a dream come true, considering that just three years ago, I started with a dream of a cut flower garden. Now, creating beautiful arrangements for local businesses and clients has become a reality.

The journey to my garden's success was filled with hard work and some failed attempts, but perseverance paid off. Trying something that sparks your interest, being patient, and accepting that not everything is an instant masterpiece is so an important part of the process. Over time, you'll discover your signature style, attracting others to your flowers. 🌸

In December 2021, my world was shaken as my Mum was diagnosed with terminal bone cancer. To cope with my emotions, I began a flower garden, seeking solace in its beauty. I began planting seedlings and drawing inspiration from many books - the pull was so strong and one I’d never felt before.

During a visit to my father, a very experienced gardener, he gave me my first dahlia tuber. Unbeknownst to me, he would pass away three months later - at just 69 years old.

Life's twists and turns often catch us off guard, yet our response can unearth joy amidst sorrow. For me, the garden became a sanctuary, nurturing me through three tumultuous years. Every bloom, every moment spent tending to my little paradise, has been a healing experience.

My love for creation has expanded so much more. The joy I feel from creating simple or lavish arrangements, being in the garden with my hands in the soil, wandering the garden excited for a new bloom to show its face. The flowers just feel so magical.

I also have a deep affection for sewing; I honed my skills as a seamstress over 12 years after a deep depression I had been experiencing. Knitting and crochet entered my life during a long recovery of double hip surgery, a creative outlet that kept me sane during that challenging time.

Creativity, I've realised, is not just a pursuit, it's a profound link to my essence, revealing the true core of who I am and what I’m capable of 🤍
