“I watched the sunset from my apartment today

the clouds chased the mountain tops
Weaving and playing
Dancing to some song
I don’t think I’ve ever heard

But It looked like they were having fun

I watched the sun paint the sky
Orange
Pink
Purple then blue
Darker
And darker
Until she decided to let the moon take over 🌙

I wish these moments would last
…just a little bit longer

Every color
The bold and the light

The way the clouds hovered there up high

I wish I could have reached out and grabbed them

I think if I could, I’d memorize the songs they’re singing
I’d write it all down and I’d paint a picture with the warmth from the sun

I’d pack it up all nice
And maybe even decorate it with a bow or two

Then, I’d give it to you

And I’d hope that the warmth would last ☀️”

…this is the first part of a poem I wrote that inspired this painting. @j.rosietoes @sarahkirky and I are working on a writing challenge this month…to write and create for 30 days straight. My goal has been to write poems or find words that inspire art and by the end of the month have 4 paintings total…with many more words to be inspired by. Here’s the first. 🧀

Honestly this song has just been stuck in my head for a while now. So, here’s a random video of some random lines I decided to randomly draw

I’ve been bad at posting the murals I’m currently working on…But here is some progress of one of the murals that I was hired to do for the city! There are 8 total!! I’ve been having so much fun putting in the work to make these come to life and enjoying getting to paint with some awesome people along the way. Thankful for all the community involvement overall with these and incredibly grateful I get to continue to pursue my passions in multiple forms. Utah has been such a gift in many many ways. Excited to keep working and creating ✨
