Early season guide “training” trip. This amazing crew just returned from #Westwater canyon, a classic stretch of whitewater near the Colorado/Utah border. Who’s ready for #rafting season?!?! #timberlinetours #timberlineguides #guidevibes #whitewater #vailrafting

We HAD to recreate the pose… it was such an iconic shot in their 2014 family session! Love being able to do side by sides!

It is not a one and done exercise.

Nothing is one and done. Practice, consistency, care, commitment, and self-forgiveness when you forget!

I’ve been journaling for 5 years. It has been a loyal companion, non-judgemental, and safe space to understand what has happened, what to do about it, and a place to capture all my doodles, creativity and hope.

Trouble is we have been taught to write ‘correctly’. We have lost our freedom. Waiting for the teachers corrections. Write what you want, make heaps of errors, do it out of any order, let your soul download what it feels like. If you want to publish anything there’s this thing called ‘editing’ and some other people are fantastic at it. Be good at what we are good at!

Narcissism is a seen as a set or pattern of behaviours, not a single behaviour; we have to zoom out and look at the collective pattern.
The key to detecting this is to
A) watch what they do, and compare it to what they say

B) watch what they do in public vs. what they do in private.

It is sometimes a long, long burn before you realise; some are sly, cunning and wait to find out all your weak spots.

But, the behaviours show themselves soon enough. I’m not a particularly religious person, but the bible and other spiritual texts very clearly warn us of these traits in humans.

You would never try to negotiate with the devil, so don’t try with a dark soul. Their job is to challenge us to stay in the light, goodness, kindness, integrity, compassion, empathy and to not be tempted by our weakness.

It’s their presence that challenges us to stand up with integrity and face our own shadow.

Reflection - 5 things I have learned during lockdown

1. I am introverted, this means that being by myself is how I regenerate my energy

2. I love beautiful things and appreciate them more in the moment

3. I am very resilient and also accepting of my emotions, Bach Flower Remedies have been a saving grace!

4. I am very creative, perhaps more than I have given myself credit for!

5. I like to take complex ideas and simplify them for others to learn
I have been through the mill due to 10 years of varying narcissistically abusive relationships (home and work). My emotional health has been a rollercoaster, but this has taught me so much, I am grateful for the experience because I can help others understand theirs
