HAPPY BIRTHDAY to our amazing Kancho Yoshiji Soeno! 🤣💜👊🏻💥💥🎁🎈🥳🎂🎉🕺🏻🥷

Kancho is the grandmaster and founder of Shidokan Karate, a full-contact style that integrates techniques from karate, kickboxing, and grappling. He is known as “The Tiger of Josai” for his skills as a fighter and instructor.

Eclectic style: Kancho founded Shidokan in 1978, developing it as an eclectic knockdown karate style. It became known as the “Triathlon of Martial Arts” for its combination of techniques from different combat sports.

World Karate Association Shidokan: Kancho is also the director of the World Karate Association Shidokan, which is headquartered in Shizuoka Prefecture, Japan.

#NAMMSHOW2023 in the books! We got to visit with many of our friends, and see some cool things! Thanks, @deeringbanjos for the opportunity to attend and showcase. Here's a look at our Saturday:

1. The crowd at the Deering Booth

2. We've been part of the Deering Banjos family for many years. Not only do they make excellent banjos, they are such wonderful people, too!

3. Had to stop by @robertrobinsonluthiers Robert Robinson Luthiers again this year to see the fine artistry and craftsmanship on these fine acoustic guitars! Wonderful to chat with Robert, Michelle, and Charlie!

4. Always a treat to catch up with our friend Mr. Baggs at the @lrbaggsofficial booth! So proud to be endorsed artists and love using LR Baggs equipment at all our shows!

5. The NAMM SHOW sign!

6. Here's a clip from our banjo showcase at the Deering booth. Representing #bluegrass in the middle of the biggest music convention in the USA!

7. It was so cool to meet the legendary actor @clinthowardoffical It turns out we both enjoy starting our NAMM day with some Starbucks. 🤠

Have to make a post with some photos from this past weekend, and so I can give a ginormous thank you from the bottom of my heart to the people who helped me and the rest of the fight team. Putting in the work for something like this is a million times easier when you’re surrounded by incredibly good people!! So much moral support, as well as help with padholding, sparring, and even help paying for my plane ticket there. It means so much to me and made it that much more of an honor to once again step into the ring and represent this wonderful community here at @shortnorthmuaythai . At this point they are my second family.

Special thank you to our Kru hope who gives us so much. She teaches us the snmt style and that the grace, compassion, and humility that comes along with it are all just as important.

Also a thank you to my mom @michellethemachine who supported me from afar with advice and nutrition and a sympathetic ear to all my hangry complaining and anxiousness haha. #muaythai

When a 14 year old model @lilygambleofficial takes on a 63 year old model agent @mariepandersonofficial in the @chicagofitnesscenterofficial dojo after the Muay Thai class this morning. 😆👊🏻💘 I couldn’t be more proud of this mighty mite, Lily! 💥💥💥 Tons of fun in class and after while our guest instructor @michellethemachine shared her high octane energy. ❤️👍🏻
