I’ve really enjoyed celebrating the 250th Anniversary of the Declaration of Independence this year and one fun addition to my celebration has actually been a cookbook—yes, a cookbook.:)

The Great American Table by @michesbaking not only has some very delicious recipes in it, it’s full of historical tidbits, fun cultural insights, images, and recipes from all over the United States. It’s been such a fun way to celebrate the country through food and my family and I have really enjoyed this cookbook.

Some recipes I’ve tried and highlight here include a yummy hash brown casserole from Iowa, homemade Mac ‘n Cheese from Oregon, and a delicious peanut butter pie from the south. I can’t wait to try even more recipes in this beautifully compiled collection. I definitely recommend this cookbook especially if you are wanting to try food from coast to coast.

The Great American Table: A Culinary Journey from Coast to Coast by Michelle Wright @michesbaking

This is an amazing collection of recipes from every state in the USA to celebrate America’s 250th birthday. Not only recipes- but stories, traditions, trivia, and the way food connects us.

It was fun to see beautiful photos of food from coast to coast as well as dishes prepared for occasions like game days, holidays, and parties.

I was brave and tried some new things- homemade pasta? A first- (as you can tell by my straight lines 😂) but I’m now not as intimidated as I used to be. Slippery noodles were well named, by the way. The name alone convinced me to try and make it.

I have several recipes that are marked as ‘must try’ and I have a feeling this book is going to get a lot of use. It’s not just a cookbook, it’s a history book. A delicious history of culture and community.

As someone who's lived in several states across the U.S. I love everything about this cookbook! It's absolutely beautiful & full of fun facts about every state. I couldn't pick a favorite, so I let the book decide. Cheesy Potato Ham Casserole hit the spot for dinner, but we'll be eating the leftovers for breakfast, guaranteed. The Great American Table feels like a love letter to our American heritage. 5 stars @michesbaking !!! (No I didn't photograph the cookbook. Just one creator supporting another! 🤍)

I love a good cookbook and this one does not disappoint! I loved the Whisk Me Away cookbook by @michesbaking so I was thrilled to also get this one! I love all the recipes from all the 50 states! These blueberry muffins from Maine are delicious and won’t be the last thing I make! Stay tuned for some more fun recipes! In the meantime this cookbook is available now!!
