I had the time of my life guys.

Last week a bunch of us came together in London to celebrate the launch of my compilation, Daring Deeply.

I wanted to use the launch as an opportunity to bring people together and play true to my style in the city I love and cherish, but often overlook in the pursuit of connecting with the deep house community who pour so much into me in South Africa. Last Saturday tickled something in my brain about the impact of pushing a culture locally. The community is ✨right here✨

My obsession with South African deep house is deeply contagious. It’s quite clearly the best thing since sliced bread. Doing anything you love and care about shows because it oozes out of you. And since this radio hun only knows how to play with a mic by my side, I trialled a cheeky communicative set 🙈

Thank you to every single person who came through to the launch with @sojurecordings. I’m so excited about cultivating and nurturing and growing this Daring Deeply community. Your response is everything.

To @__cruz.ctrl @bussssssssssa @dilon_franklin @sighwithme thank you for your support on the night. Everybody played so beautifully.

To my girl @micimusic who treated this project like it was her own, getting on with liaising with producers and editing whilst simultaneously prepping her own set in a t-shirt that reads ‘I love Asanda’. I love YOU. Blessed that we know how rich we are in friendship. I couldn’t do this without you.

Thinking about the wider collective comes naturally for @charisseec and before I became a DJ, exactly 3 years ago, I reached out for guidance. What do YOU think I should do, if I’m not South African and all I want to do is play SA deep house? Her words back then are the reason I’m here lol. ‘Music is meant to be shared, felt and experienced.’ Everything in the last 3 years has been one shared expansive conversation.

I am because we are 🤍 Sizwe.

This industry is male dominated. Women are not seen as human beings. Multiple ongoing genocides as a result of this white supremacist capitalist patriarchy. We have to come together. Heal. Be in community. Find our people. Love boldly. Be intentional. Dance.

I’m so grateful.🫀
